FFXIV Anima Weapon Crystal Sand Farming - Fast and easy!

Quick video here, I saw this asked three times or so recently in the daily question thread, so I figured people might need it!

Thanks so much for showing this in a video. I was getting really overwhelmed going over how many poetics, GC seals or gil I would need to spend to get the crystal sands if I went the other routes.

Just did this a while ago and in 100 allowances I got 17 pieces. For people who don't use their Leves I suggest use this method unless you see a better way that is.

For those doing this now and are looking for some more detailed info instead of "did or didn't work." *As of 7/19/2020* I burned through 100 allowances on this one levequest standing in the spot described in the video. I ended up with 10 Vilekin, of course giving me a chest spawn rate of 10%. There were a couple of extra chest spawn locations not mentioned in the video, and you can still see them all from that spot on the rock just fine. Based on my singular experience it appears the chance for chests to spawn is quite low. That being said, I MAY do this once more when my allowances refill and if I do I will try to update this comment with the outcome of that. Compared to almost every other way of collecting these this is still the easiest/cheapest but it will require an extreme amount of patience.

09/25/2020: I just spent around 61 tries and gathered 12 vilekin. Although i used the Levequest "Dance, Magic Dance" in Idyllshire. On previous Anima Weapons i got around 20-25 Vilekins while burning through 100 Allowances, think that was max. 1 year ago.

As of patch 6.08 I got 17 Amber-encased Vilekin from 100 levequests. It's a good method if you have 100 spare levequests you're not using Edit: UPDATED SPAWN POINTS - Chests appear closer to Moghome and I found that none appeared north of the rock where the OP recommends standing...

There are multiple spawn locations for chests. 4 I think, you can see all of them from his spot, all you need to do is move your camera. I just did this method yesterday to see if it still works and it does, 100 quests gave me 14 amber-encased vilekin

I got 8 last night with like, 25 allowances (didn't want to use them all) in the sea of clouds leves, the area is tiny so they're very easy to spot and reset the leve.

Temple leves give 5 per chest for 10 allowances per leve. You can easily get 10+ in 10 minutes of effort

no its not idk what Exidiral is talking about. I spent 50 and never saw one chest so this method isnt really reliable.

This works! I have gotten 20 chests from 98 leve quests, on 13 May 2020. Guys, dont complain already, it's just one of the many ways to get some sand crystals, not ALL. You still need to combine it with other ways. What more could you ask for when you literally just sit in one place & swing your camera around & you have the chance to get the chests? Be grateful bro

@@BevoDaywalk I'm trying to find where I read it, but I'm starting to think I read this on another item :/ Was reading several at the time and probably miss took Singing Cluster for Crystal Sand when attempting to remember it all. I was thinking that it was sold by the Phantasmagoria merchant, but as I haven't gotten through Shadowbringers yet I can't confirm that. Sorry if I miss informed everyone :(

He did say exactly, and showed us on the map lol it's the leves in Foundation, there's a big mark on your map for where to find leves.
