FFXIV ARR: Final Coil of Bahamut Lore

After the Calamity, Bahamut's existence was indeed stopping the realm from restoring itself completely, but i don't remember any part of him cutting the flow of aether... In fact, it was the appearance of the Phoenix and its explosion to aether after the showdown that actually caused the realm to heal so quickly from a destructive force such as the Calamity (up to that point, that had been a huge mystery since the very beginning of 2.0). Its the whole reason why its the primal of rebirth, not just a weapon against Bahamut. His true task was giving a rebirth boost to the land.

I just absolutely hate the idea of stepping foot into the binding coil of Bahamut, so these videos have given me the info about the story and such that takes place in that place which I will never step foot in.

That was a extremely epic cutscene and a badass story. If I was more hardocore and had a FC, I would've done the coils immediately.

Lol I was right in my deify theory then...to a point... If you die a man, you live on as legend, in time that can come distorted. The people fall back on that to sustain them and as such you return as sometime greater, yet is it yourself or the ideal of the people, thus a new persona is created. Thus a god is born and yet even that like in so many FFs is a slave to the people and thus can be overcame by mortals, yet it continues... Given this even if in the story we are able to defeat the Ascian's new ones would somehow appear again.. I had a story, my Miqo'te character would be worshipped as a hero, then legend and them become: Greiver: Primal of Recurrence (FFVIII)

Bahamut was one of the original brood of Meracydians from a past era, a dragon through and through. He was summoned in a similar manner to that of all other primals, with prayer and lots of aether.

Sounds like she's going to play a part in Heavensward. Also with all those dragons being released couldn't be good for Ishgard and their war with the dragons. Also (spoilers maybe) it sounds like Myercidia(sp) was a race of dragon like people which could tie in to the Shiva lore. Maybe....

Because they don't know that. I doubt the dragons encased in the coil were released more that their life support was turned off and they were finally allowed to die. Besides, I'm sure even the dragons would realize that re summoning bahamut would be a stupid idea given how much he decimated the landscape. He was indiscriminate

SPOILERS The Dravanians and Meracydians most likely come from a different brood of Dragons and do not worship the same entities. The Meracydians lived 4 Astral Eras ago and while it is possible that the Dravanians may be their late ancestors, the Dravanians are more concerned with the resurrection of their king, Midgardsormr. Reviving him would restore order and help ensure their victory over the Ishgardians, their one true foe. Bahamut would not simply help them win the Dravanian War, but would go on a rampage across Eorzea and the rest of the realm. His rage and hatred make him a poor leader who would do nothing but destroy.
