Is it just me or does it feel really abrupt when you defeat Estinien, he disappears, and then shows up in the second part of ARR like none of that happened? I feel like they had different plans for him originally.

Pearsons GM He would only recognize you if you were on dragoon like how the scholar tonberry in wander's palace hm recognizes you on sch but not on any other job.

Rundas342 if you see the 1.0 videos you see parts of his skin was Grey so he was a Duskwight but in 2.0 he was retconed as a Wildwood.

Reala Actually in my case I had only just started the dragoon questline at that point and for me Estinien said something along the lines of "I knew our paths would cross again." or something like that. So it's like he knows you, but you haven't defeated him yet so he doesn't talk about you being the second dragoon.

megaomario See, that's a cool tidbit. His dialogue changes based on previous interactions with him. Square didn't have to go that far, but they totally did anyways.
