This shit happens in GW2 occasionally. Players just download a hotkey macro for the song and use discord to sync the stuff up so that they can put on a show. Not seen as often anymore in GW2 tho being that that game has been dying more and more

Just unlocked the Bard Music stuff. Can you add songs to the game? I want to be able to see the notes as I try to play them.

This is played using one of the bard music programs out there, mostly automated. Just a matter of finding or crafting a MIDI file that works well in the game, and playing it through the program.

From what I've seen (haven't been able to start the game due to poor timing, but been wanting to start for a month or so), the the game itself lets you remap the notes to different keys on the keyboard or controller, but nothing more than that. If you want more help, or to use a more traditional midi instrument interface, you need external programs that convert midi or other music files to macros to press the keybinds you set in game for you. Bard Music Player (BMP) seems to be the most popular, and there are discord communities that can give you advice (or straight up pre-tuned MIDI files) to use with it to play a part (or even have multiple characters running on the same PC simultaneously to make a whole synced band). I'd assume since BMP can take any midi input, including from live midi controllers (ie most keyboards and some other more specialized digital instrument synthesizers), you could pair it with something like Synestesia to have pre-recorded midi file -> Synethesia to show you what notes to play -> live performance on a midi keyboard or app that makes your computer keyboard act like one -> BMP to turn the midi into keypress macros -> FFXIV if you want to play live but with the help of tabs. Or maybe BMP can do that natively no synesthesia required? would need to test and literally cannot download the game because of its current suffering-from-its-own-success situation.
