I am a little bit surprised that the winged sets are not caster/healer themed, as a phys ranged dps main I'm happy that we get to enjoy it, the best looking one for me.

Personally think they all should have been diabolos themed. Would have looked better. Fending/maiming 1st place. The healer/casting is 2nd place with the wing sets being worst

Succubus, Scylla and Diabolos inspired armours were an odd combo. Something to note however was the Diablo Armament note, which states how Allag did encounter Mr. Reoccuring Voidsent himself while mapping out the portal at CT, hence him being used as the basis for such a project. Honestly, that might be the only reason these are here, yet that still leaves me also wondering if we’ll get him. Or potentially even other bosses besides him from Void Ark onwards. Can already feel them eyeing up Ozma as we speak, and don’t even get me started on how hype Thunder God getting this treatment would be.

@@rezahydra I believe the winged sets are based on Phoinix just by appearance but it’s a pretty big leap going from Diabolos and Succubus who are in lvl 50 and 60 dungeons both related to Amdapor, all the way to Phoinix in Asphodelos: the third circle.

@ You uh… you forgot the Phoenix which we actually fight in Coils… the one referenced in P8S… Also, no I’m 100% confident they’re based on Scylla, that’s very obvious. Scylla has a very similar design to her gear from CT, and her model itself has very similar motifs, however it was reserved to casting and healing originally which is what’s shocking me.

I was specifically talking about the Phoinix from Asphodelos: The Third Circle due to the fact that the Striking, Scouting and Aiming Clouddark gear all have a black with red motif, four wings around the waist, spines and horns all over, as well as sharp claws. The Phoenix from Coils has a completely different colour scheme, design and theming. And unless I'm misconstruing what you're saying, Scylla in FFXIV is a lady with 6 dog heads and a cat tail, covered in dog arms (and so is the mythological creature with the same name). And the gear that drops from her is yet again dog heads and dog arms, not related at ALL to the wings, feathers and spines in this video. Not to mention that the FFXIV enemy has a purple and white colour palette compared to the Clouddark gear being black and red. So I'm not too sure where your confidence is stemming from but again I could be misreading what you're saying!

@ Actually the Aiming Set specifically has no red, and the color of the armour is a dark maroon blue. I can understand your reasoning for suggesting that, but as you said yourself in the prior comment, it’s a massive jump. Diabolos at least showed up in ARR thanks to Lost City of Amdapour, and thanks to Bozja has a direct tie to the Crystal Tower in lore. There’s no lore connection as far as I’m aware even to the Phoinix. Likewise if we then go back and look at the Scylla Healing set, while it does have the dog motif as is obvious, and while the wings are new on the rest of the outfit… everything else lines up. Unless we’re both missing something, a link to CT not known or some much more obscure Voidsent or whatnot, yeah there is no perfect fit. Honestly though, I am glad for the convo. This is really gettin’ me thinking on what could be going on here.

Those wings do not compliment the gear in my opinion. I do hope this content is successful though since I'd like to see what they could create for Nier (especially since I despise the female sets for Copied Factory. They were all too similar compared to the male versions)

The Diabolos themed sets are nifty but lord as someone who mainly plays caster the healer and caster sets are vile. The 3/4 pants and the open toed shoes with claws coming out of the top of the toes??

Based off Succubi from the looks of things, but yeah I uh… I am shocked these aren’t the striking and scouting sets… they definitely have the colors for, and that’d fit a lot better with the likes of 14’s succubi, normally wielding a sword in one hand with dexterous melees and all.

The gear is mostly alright (except caster/healer) but the role decisions for some of them are way off. Also, the caster crown being a pair of succubus horns when we already have that in game as a glamour option is just…ugh

These sets are okay. I think they need to invest more money into designing greater variety. Each job (not each role but each job) should have their own set, flavored to the raid themes, but the sets should be distinctive. The game has become too homogenized. I get it for gameplay. It makes balancing easier to fine tune so no one is left out. However, without individual job quests, only one set of job gear per expansion, homogenized gameplay, and bland animations that aren't unique for finishers and individual jobs, it soon feels like everything is and looks the same and that's super boring. They took great first steps revitalizing their instanced content in DT but there's a lot of work still to be done to make each job feel exciting and unique to play. Preserving individual job identity, even if it can only be expressed in superficial stuff like animations and individualized gear would go a long way to making the game feel special again.

I can definitely see people hating any glam, I mean I’m someone whose never been a fan of the Bozja Relics, but I’m actually curious on what the issues are for ya, if you have the time to reply. ^~^

@@rezahydra I actually have an issue with sets that are made to be altogether. Part of the fun of glam in this game is mixing and matching. Seems like these sets will probably only look good together. Also, the helmets seem to "complete" them and I rarely have my helmet turned on. Especially with the first set, it would probably look very strange with the helmet off. That's pretty much it.

@ Trust me, I’m still shocked how much you can combine together in this game without it breaking the cohesion of the outfit. Sometimes even adding to in the case of stuff like the lackluster (to me) Yafaemi sets, where I still see people blowing my mind with some combos.

I can’t help imagine whoever got into the glamour department for this expansion but they need a swift kick out. The boots look too tight on the feet looking like some slip on shoes. The short tail on the back of the armor for the maiming set feels like an eye sore.
