As of today, crafting materials from legendary nodes are relatively cheap - about 2~3k gil each. Unless each craft takes a whole stack of these, material costs won't be outrageously expensive, so I'll be looking for get some profit and pray not being undercut so much.

I over prepared for this thinking there would be good profit this morning. On my server, there was 0 gear or weapons that started at 15-20 mil. It went from 10 mil - 7 mil - 2 mil - and now 500 k -250 k lol. I made more Gil by selling crafted mats.

Same, my server is also around 500K per piece, I logged on this morning and decided for that little it wasn't worth it. I made more Gil selling Cunning Craftsmans Draught and Tsai you Vounou than I would have selling the gear.

First day gear will sell really well, but it will slow quickly, mats will sell really well for a week. You can make millions just off of mats easy. Just not 100's of millions.

So to be clear, it's my understanding that there will be no new crafting gear/tools this patch (Jan 3), is that right? I went ahead and pentamelded my crafter gear and my stats are pretty close to yours. I let the tools kinda go, will adjust if it seems I'm lacking something once I try to make the new things. I guess I need to try to cram in some farming nodes tonight to get a few more mats. Scrips are capped, as well as a stockpile of collectibles to turn in (damn that 2000 limit). I'm sitting at about 125M gil, after taking a bath doing the pentamelding (RNG wasn't kind) and I'd love to make that back and then some. What scares the bejeebeez out of me is the addition of Expert Recipies, and the thought that it is going to creep into making mainstream items, not just goofy side projects like Ishardian Restoration was, or the relic crafter tools/Resplendant. Think "new glam" - that "OMG I'm gonna make a killing making this dress... " only to find out it's WAAYYY hard Expert Crafts that take 20 minutes to make each one (if I can at all).

If you have nothing prepped, just put some bullshit melds into a set of crafter gear til everything is pentamelded, then look for whichever lvl 90 collectable you wouldn't mind gathering the items for and get to crafting and turning them in for purple scrips. Turn those scrips into X materia

im a crafting/gathering scrub and i understood only very little of this. I havent looked into it at all but I'm kindof waiting for a casual leve turn in for crafting like the coffee biscuits to make my money. I only got into crafting/gathering at the very end of shadowbringers so I missed out on a ton of gil just by not doing the biscuits. it also doesnt help that I went on vacation right as endwalker released so i didnt get to play much so I'm already well enough behind by a couple weeks there... anyways, looking forward to the new crafting stuff in 6.05!

I haven't even bothered to overmeld anything or use the new materia... I figure new crafting gear will be coming with master recipes and it felt like a waste. I really should spend the day today capping scrips and do some gathering. Then again, I was far more focused on getting my battle jobs geared out and all role quests done (and camping Chi).

I love it when people undercut by 20-40%; I just buy it and flip it for the normal or higher price. And always seem to profit by 80-90%. Especially when people undercut by vendor sale. (i.e. vendor sale: 1500 Gil | MB: 900 Gil) I’ll buy it and sell it to vendor. *FREE MONEY!*

if you have a level 90 gatherer, farm up white scrips collectables and use the scrips to buy gatherer materia. On Light DC, Guile V's go for 50k each since it is used for BiS for gathers. You could sell 20 of those for 1mil. Just check the marketboard for which materia is selling for a high price and then farm the scrips for it.

Something I've always wondered when it comes to Macros and hitting thresholds. Does manually crafting and taking the RNG skills into account that get effected by poor, good, and excellent condition status' give you any sort of safety net or worth doing instead of macros?

The easy answer is yes, but it's very inefficient. And there isn't any guarantee that you will get the procts you need. HQ mats help as well

If you're crafting x100 food or tinctures, use macros or else you'll go crazy. If you're crafting your raid gear once then do it manually because you can make use of the condition

So macros are way better, they save a ton of time and keep you from melting your brain put of boredom, from my experience, every 30 or 40 crafts something goes wrong with the poor' /good quality thing and i dont get a maxed quality craft, but thats it, the time and mental health I save is easily worth the time itd take to gather enough materials for that one craft that messed up, used to not care for macros until i leveled up crafting classes in one night with just collectables, I broke and used macros after that, my carpenter got leveled in the same time as it took my BSM/ARM/WVR classes

Wow, this video did not age well. 10-20 million? lol. People immediately flooded the market in every category on my server, maybe 1-2 items sold at 1.2 million or so, then prices all crashed down below 500k, and many now sit at 300k. Lots more of the huge influx of players are crafters than they are raiders, and crafting leveling and gear is easier than it's ever been. Supply is massively outstripping demand.

Best advice I ever heard: don't ever undercut, match the lowest price. The more people undercut, even by a single gil, means someone ELSE will undercut and eventually prices will be worthless. BE PATIENT when selling!

Hell naw. undercutting 1gil to make sure MINE sells so I don't come back even 1h later to see others sold and mine is not even top 3 cheapest. Unless investing, I found it way better to keep undercutting. with a higher capital u can invest more.
