I liked giving my plank of wood character a personality too. I like applying how he grew as a fledgling adventurer turned hero based on how I learned how to play the game. Now that he's experienced, I usually have him study many jobs because he learned applying techniques from other jobs is how he is able to win and survive many of his battles. But he eventually returns to Dark Knight because that was the job that helped him grow and cope during one of the hardest periods of his life.

on shard travel - I just want the devs to remember the Hellsguard lore and make use of it. Which I don't think is a far fetched possibility since one of the C team Scions has dialogue about going to find the ancient original homeland of the Roegadyns if you find and talk to them after finishing 6.0, so someone definitely remembers there's good stuff to dig into there.

Honestly I like the balance of praise and criticism, playing the game for 9 years you really see the things that are good and baffling things done bad lol. Echo chambers are never good for growing yourself and for the health of the game. Always appreciate the speakers on things like this!

It's so funny hearing G'yorgy say the character name lore, because that was one of the first bits of character lore I made after learning there was a naming convention thread on the official forums. My character's named Mela'nia Dawnfried because I figured the way Miqo'te is broken up it would be similar, so I just made her an orphan and a lalafell blacksmith found her who also didn't understand the spelling of Miqo'te names, so he wrote it like that, and she took his last name. Because of the lore, I refuse to change it, but every alt I've made with her looks has been with the corrected "M'lania", as some sort of alternate timeline where he actually understood how to write it.

in the middle of all the chaos i'm still wondering when they'll fix the NA visa debit card problem, my sub expires at the end of the month and i just wanna know if i have to figure out the paypal option instead. it's not a huge problem, just vaguely annoying and frustrating and really weird that companies in general keep making it incredibly difficult to pay them for stuff and then complain when they're not getting paid for stuff.

Tin foil hat time: The extended DDoS could be someone who obsessively stalked a plot they liked in one of those zones that were listed so they could force a demo because they somehow figured out the timing of the countdown, and they initiated the attack to try to snipe the lotto. Attack to force the demo, stop the attack to jump into the lotto, then attack again to lock the lotto. Way too much effort just for a house, but I've seen the FF community go farther for less before.

55:56 waiiit is the content drought before the storm the reason the ffxiv subreddit has been so extra awful lately? like, its reddit so its never great but these last few weeks its been just...so extremely hostile, its like you quite literally can't comment anything without someone attacking you. I don't normally use the reddit block option but I've used it with abandon lately as I've watched new players ask very basic new player questions just to see replies from people ripping them to shreds. In the two years before this that I've been playing I've never seen the subreddit get this nasty. And like, if thats how those people act when they're bored I don't want to interact with them when they aren't bored cos they've proven they're nasty people, so thanks for showing me your true colors but damn. Quite literally, go touch some grass.
