The thing with Solution 9 is that Allag and Garlemald being so technologically advanced was because of Emet Selch’s direct influence. This type of tech must’ve been normal for the Ancients for the guy in charge of monitoring the cycle of souls to be able to push whole societies into industrial revolutions. Altima, is worth noting, was the seat of ARTISTS, including architecture. So it’s just as possible for that Ascian to be behind this.

They won't put seasonal events in Ishgard and beyond because said events are supposed to be easily accessible. Yes, there are people out there who haven't gotten to Ishgard yet and there's always more new people joining the game. Now I wouldn't mind if the other cities got decorated for the events at least.

1:07:50 Emet's plan wasn't to "make himself whole." It was revive everyone who died in the Final Days. Emet was unsundered, he was already whole. He wouldn't care about whatever pet project Altima was running on the source.

Solution Nines Soul Supply, assuming it is indeed ancient in origin, sounds very creepy. Wonder if this is linked to (assuming again) the purple crystals on the box art, the cg tailer and dungeon. Something has been found and wanting to take over bodies(?)

If it's Genomes, it could be less that souls are trying to take over bodies and more that bodies are trying to acquire souls.

On solution 9.. tying it to the 9th calamity might be accurate. It might be the seed to rebuild the world from after what would have been the 8th calamity. A solution to accelerate the creation of the 9th calamity.

I've seen people float the Genome theory for the city (which would explain why we don't get to see the NPCs), maybe they rebuilt the city slowly over time for when the people are able to return to it (like the souls being in stasis until that time). Didn't other cities get mentioned in the 5.0 MSQ in Amaurot? If so maybe it's a visually distinct city made up of other Ancients that tried their own solution to the Final Days. It being underground would also make sense and then Heritage Found is the area above ground that the sundered people found and built around in their own style.

Especially since G'yorgy brought up the idea that Gaia might have been under the lake in 1.x. Anyway, I like that design of Zodiark better, makes him look angelic and definitely fits the "savior" vibe a lot better than what we eventually got in-game. Well, that was a terrifying way to end the stream... Although, I think Meoni bought one of those Y'shtola dolls, check out his channel, I guess.

For the ladder question. There's one place I know where we climb a ladder, and that is from Bozja Southern Front, more precisely when you qued for the Castrum, cause the first encounter has 2 bosses that affect each other. So you have 2 groups, one on the bottom and one on the top, and the way to get to the top is via ladder.

Why are y'all skipping the theory on this (solution 9 and heritage found) being remnants of a civilization fallen to second calamity? Judging by description, that calamity was caused by overexertion of natural resources that ended in clouds covering the sky and constant lightning storms f-ing up the land. Maybe heritage is an entrance to solution 9 that was designed to save ppl from the second calamity?

I don't think Solution 9 is ascian related. I'm leaning toward either a civilization that found the 9th and final solution to survive the 2nd calamity by using the lightning beneficially or they are a civilization from another shard that teleported the entire city to the source (the most likely). Either case would allow 10,000 - 12,000 years for technological development. If they were an advanced culture they very well could figure out the nature of the source and its reflections. So, they find a way to teleport to the source knowing that is essentially the origin of their species. Meet the intelligent life of the source and dub the location of their arrival and first contact "Heritage Found" which is very appropriate. This would also allow for the Hyur and Miqo'te in the billboard images. Also: "Some of the civilizations on the reflections will surprise you". Another thought, the discussion of the "ascian's goal" kept coming up. Their goal has failed. They can't restore the shards to sacrifice the life of the source to trade for the souls in Zodiark that belong to their people. He's dead and the souls are in the sea. They're done.

I wonder if the solution nine thing will have a tardis like quality, like a portal into it or it looks much smaller on the outside than the inside? I kind of wonder if it was some experimental technology that has been left to it’s own devices and evolved?

As someone who owns a 'room full of dollfie dolls' I don't find them creepy personally. I'm definitely a collector and the quality that these are made is well worth the price imo. I know it's hard for everyone else to see that but I've been in this niche hobby for almost two decades so I'm used to it haha.

So, based on my limited blender knowledge, material isn't literally leather material. It's the format of the specific colors and shader for those "polygons" or as blender calls them, faces. You set certain polygons to certain materials with variation and design coming from the UVs combined with the materials set. Materials can hold info like bump maps (makes 2D things reflect light like they are 3D) and roughness (shine) or emissions (lights). So when he says that the leather there is a 3rd material, he is saying that the first two dye channels are set to be customized by the player while the 3rd isn't. And whatever way they have it setup on the backend has it set so only the first two materials can be changed and not the 3rd. I can only assume this is because not all gear has 3 or more materials, or because it puts too much load on things being processed real-time in memory.

The problem i have with ancients or ascians being the driving force behind Solution Nine is that the neons banners portray female midlanders and female miqote. Ancients didnt have other races, ascians are just ancients so they don't appreciate the racial diversity either, meanwhile Allag is possible but they used miqote as slaves in their days.

yeah the pictomancer effects look so bad like a 2 year old drew them with crayons the rest of the visual effects look so well done for every other job it's going stand out like a sore thumb

I could care less about Pictomancer. I think the idea for the job is cool but I'm in the group that does think the VFX look very out of place in FFXIV. Plus I'm just not the audience this class is for. I would have loved to see effects resembling the ones from the Okami series. That would have been cool. My biggest gripe was the music. I honestly hate it personally. The transitions between the different parts of the song are so grating. And theres too many vocal effects that make it sound distorted.

I would be more excited about pictomancer if I knew they would add something unique in terms of class mechanics. My friend said in 6 pictomancer would paint other mobs and copy their attacks,but with 14 i highly doubt they will do anything close to that. I'm guessing its just another builder/spender on 2min cd like everything else. Solution 9 honestly just looks like pso2 though, like weirdly similar. Its really jarring and im not a fan of the aesthetic but who knows. I would love if altima actually did build another moon to throw at the planet so we can have ARR 2. I'm only half joking lol.
