Dude this game has me sobbing on the regular. I had to break down and admit that the msq is the best final fantasy game ever made. It beat out ff v, vi,vii, ix, and x for me. The nostalgia is hard for those old games but FFXIV is a masterpiece

Both, both are good. But “Dedicated to moonlight” and especially “Scream” are my favorite songs in this game at the moment. So I’m one one of the mentors, even though my crown is turned off most of the times.

All these songs are simply perfect, i find myself listening to scream randomly in the day, but oblivion..... If there is one song i always think of when FF14 soundtrack comes up, its that, i always just hop on my white horse just to listen to it while walking.

Man this is actually so fucking true. When i first got into the game, those were the kinda songs that you just go "Yeah this shit is good" so you have the admit the music is pretty good in general. Then little by little you hear more of the music and start realizing more than just a select few are good

All the songs are good I honestly haven't heard a single track that I hated or disliked I feel this just shows the time frame at which were enjoying the music which means the sprouts will eventually be the ones holding the record player while were the dancing skeletons from fantasia listening to 7.0 music

I love the Heavensward OST that I literally just go to Foundation sometimes just to hear the timpani roll and the horns blast in for Solid. But just finishing EW and I haven’t been back to Ultima Thule because I feel like I’ll just start sobbing again and I feel my WoL did not get outraged enough at the trauma all my friends inflicted upon me. But seriously. I need a shirt that says “Tales of loss and fire and faith.”

Somehow I like your format waaaay better. Like most people use this meme to represent the ENDgame players only, so the old people are listening to like, Overdweller or Good King Mooglemog, and the young people are listening to like Eden raids, but you flipped it to ALL players, which flipped the joke. Now the Old people are listening to Endwaler, and the kids are still working their way through ARR. This also implies that the game ages you, which like after like everything with like Emet-Selch and meeting Venat, yeah that does happen.

I think the idea is that "old players" are playing current content and having the more current jams, while newer players are jamming to what they have access to. Though certain themes for me as an older player like the ARR ground mount music make me insanely nostalgic for those days of running in the wild doing FATE parties to level and the grind for the old relic. Or Ishgard's theme which plays on the Heavensward PS4 theme taking me back too.

Older players will remember or feel more from the older music, whereas newer players will mostly get that with the newest, 'cause it's what's current to them. They'll run through the older content once, and then only ever see it again in roulettes every so often.

I'm confused, how old are we going? I didn't hear any 2.0 songs in there, most of them seem more "new" than old, if you ask me. And wouldn't Thunder Rolls be considered an "Old" track, so wouldn't the Mentors be jamming to that instead of Scream? It feels like they're flipped to me, unless I'm missing something??

The joke is the new players are experiencing the old songs and haven't gotten to the new songs yet. Note how theyre only Sprouts, so its all ARR and Heavensward stuff. But the old players know the Endwaller songs because theyre gotten farther in the game. Ive had exactly this experience with my wife since she got into the game years before I did.
