That's how I feel right now. FF1 was the first video game I owned. I'm queued for the fight as we speak. About 32 years ago, my party was down, my Knight was low, and I took one last swing at him in defiance. It was just enough to kill him, making it the first video game I beat as well.

This is one of the songs that put Nobuo Uematsu in the video game spotlight. At the time of FFI's development, he had to work with a very limited toolkit. But with musical prowess and plenty of luck, his music contributed to the original Final Fantasy game's success which saved Square from going bankrupt (hence the title "Final" Fantasy). It's awesome to hear this battle theme score with orchestral instruments in FFXIV. :3

While it's true that FF1 saved Square from bankruptcy, that being the origin of the "Final" Fantasy name, while very poetic, has been debunked as a myth quite a lot of times. They wanted to called the game Fighting Fantasy, but since that was already trademarked, they went with another word that started with F, and "Final Fantasy" was chosen for the title. And thank god, because I don't imagine Fighting Fantasy having quite the same punch

Just have Scarmiglione be a dungeon boss. (Assuming 5.3 has an MSQ trial instead of a sidequest one just like the last two)

I know the Final Boss theme of the Final Fantasy I remake was just an arranged version of the Battle 1 to begin with, but they should've arranged the final boss arrangement of Battle 1 instead. The Final Boss arranged version existed for a reason. The original Battle 1 just doesn't suit a battle with Chaos that well. Hence why there was an arranged version in the first place!

Unbound King Frankly, I couldn't care too much about those themes, since A. the first two belong to the Fiends, and B. There's more memory and more attachment with the standard battle theme. This was the theme of both the first and last battles of the first Final Fantasy, which, similar to the Warring Triad getting Fierce Battle/Battle to the Death as first phase themes and Kefka getting Decisive Battle before the Tower of the Gods springs up whilst Exdeath gets his theme right off the bat, I think the creators had more of an intention of being "true" to the older fans who have followed the series to now. Besides the point, few things beat the classic bassline of the Final Fantasy battle themes in orchestra, once you hear it.
