FFXIV Razer Tartarus V2 HUD layout keymapping

I just got my tartarus yesterday, and I was so confused on where to start, so this helped a TON. Now I have a pretty good idea of how to set up, all I gotta do is get over my fear of taking it into raid after using just a normal keyboard for so long. Thanks for making this video! :)

Oh its amazing, I think it makes raiding a bit easier. It takes a while to get used to but once you get it down. It’s like second nature

Just got this as a hand-me-down and mostly trying to figure out how to use this thing given that its just... way too large. I struggle to reach for the buttons up top when my palm is resting and then struggle for the spacebar key when it's not. I'm glad I never splurged on this thing myself but this video has certainly helped me to understand in what sort of way I might want to set it up. Given the space is just really awkward to press and to keep moving at the same time, I might rebind it to maybe pressing the scroll wheel instead. This thing really is about changing up the headspace I'm in when playing since I've been playing with a keyboard and MMO mouse for absolutely ages, hence certain keybinds like 1 through to = are all set on my mouse for example, which is fine for MMOs but on shooters pressing those buttons on the mouse might cause me to slip if I intend to aim a bit, so not ideal!

So, I had a similar issue; I found turning my hand at an angle worked. I only use my pinky to hit the 06, 11, and 16 keys, and use my ring to hit 01, 02, and so on. Just keep messing with positions till you feel comfortable. =D happy gaming

I bought one to play apex and have been considering playing final fantasy as well I do have an mmo mouse as well as a shooter I feel like I might make some kind of set up where I make my rotation on the mmo mouse and defense on the keypad this was a great video to help me go for it

Depending on my class it moves around. Most of them have the attacks on the Tartarus with cool downs on the mouse. With my healers the attacks are on the mouse and healing and cool downs on the razer

Thanks for the info - this is really helpful! I used the older model back in 2012-ish, in my WoW days (it wasn't even called a tartarus, it was a nostromo) and actually picked this up for spaceflight games - but oh man, I think it can be a life changer now that I'm into FF14! Don't know if this will be useful either for me or you - but the hypershift function of the keypad has been handy for me in other circumstances. The ability to swap to an alternate set of commands can be useful for freeing up space on other keys, thinking I might use it to let the 8, 12, 13, 14 keys remain movement keys and using the hypershift to execute particular combat abilities?

Have you had the issue where it sticks on you? I touched up on it in my last video. I was running Reginae normal mode and it got stuck on me…poor Belori B lined it to the edge of the arena and died xD haha

i have this but don't use this I have thought about getting it out just to have movement on joystick. I just got to comfortable with a controller. I also tried g600 mmo mouse and it not bad but having to press all those buttons without pressing the wrong one some times is a nightmare. Overall good video and would like see more video around setting and stuff with the tartarus there defo a lack of info out there around this. I hope to see more videos around this and I might consider pulling my tartarus v2 out

@@mmor2games289 maybe a full setup guide from the software to setting keybinds up in the game and a breeze of the hud layout so people get the full understanding on how to set it up work comfortable. Save them abit of trial and error.

Yeah I don’t know if it’s a software issue or a hardware issue but it happens to them. Just do a quick 360 on the d pad and it should stop

Heya! I just bought this myself and I was wondering if you could do a detailed video of how you set it up in the Razer Customize? I’m trying to set it up so my character moves in 360 degree movement with the analog stick but I’m having troubles with it since he won’t turn around or turn at all. Just backs up slowly.

sure! I can help you out...What you're talking about isn't a Razer setting..its an FF setting. In game click on system, then on character configuration ( or K on your keyboard) then under movement settings in the General tab, select Legacy Type and you should be good with that 360 movement.

I have a Corsair gaming mouse, I set the scroll reel to jump. So I click down to jump now. However, sometimes I forget the mouse is set to MMO mode so when I switch games it throws me off haha

Hi, I'm not really sure where to go since there's not much info on tartarus + ffxiv --- My Dpad just suddenly stopped controlling my character movement. Everything else works, the keybinds and what not, and the dpad itself still works as I've swapped to a different keymap and it affects the camera. But when I switch back to my main keymap, it won't control movement. I haven't done anything recently sides from have the game updated due to the recent patch. Do you know what might help?

I believe that happened to me once. I checked for an update to the software and remapped it. If not try looking at the game settings too. Let me know

Im gonna using this for a game that just came out and doesnt have controller options yet. Im using the razor tartarus for the analog stick movement.do I have to set anything up? Or will the analog stick already register and WASD?

You will have to assign it under the software for the razor.

How is the movement with the dpad? I have an old G13 and I want to replace it. On that, the joysticks analog movement is perfect, but when I set it to use WASD, the backward movement often has the character walk diagonally rather than run backwards (I use legacy controls). Have you faced any similar issues?

I have not, I have it set to WASD as well and when I hit the (s) on the Dpad, my character turns and runs. I'll look into it. I am on Legacy controls too. Try remapping your device and see if that works.

If the pad is your movement, what button is jump? You can’t move and jump both with your thumb?

I currently use the mouse to jump. Clicking the scroll wheel is how I jump. There is a key I have assigned for targeting mobs. That could be used to jump also.

My hand is small, it is hard for me to reach the top 5 keys. I can touch 2nd 5keys but need to move my hand over the pad.

I have that issue with the 1 key. But so far so good. The more I've used it the better I have gotten. I used to misclick all the time now it's rare. I hope you are enjoying the keypad and enjoying the content.

I have never tried out of fear of breaking it. I tent to break a lot of things, so I would rather not. However, I believe I did see a video of someone taking it off to showcase the mechmembrain of the keys

Anybody having issues with using it with steam games? Iv tried it with black ops 3 and dead rising but it doesn't seem to work! Don't know if this is just the case for older games?
