@@dyreckta23 oh I know just for endwalker my queue would reset after waiting two hours and I could never get in. I would use TeamViewer just to log in and get in queue on my way home and just never could get in. It would always reset.

There is always a short queue to any server, as the server places everyone into a queue, and then lets people in in batches.

You could never skip the queue by cancelling. It just let you check faster whether you hit the top of the line (it checks it periodically). But this obviously taxes the login server (hence why, it checks periodically). So they made you lose your spot in the queue, to protect people from ruining things for everyone to save less than a minute. I swear, the largest part of software design is protecting users from themselves 😅

@KaitoCam it.. literally has a section where it says Home world characters have priority. "As existing data centers and Worlds are expected to become especially congested, the following restrictions will be in place starting in Patch 7.0 until Patch 7.01 (or Patch 7.05 at the latest, depending on the situation) to alleviate congestion and prioritize logins for Home World residents." - Notice the last sentence there.

This is my first time being able to experience an expansion on release -- Can i ask how long this intense congestion usually lasts for? As incredibly excited as i am to see all the new things, i'm torn between trying early access, or just waiting for things to calm down a bit~ 🤔💭

about a week, give or take, but Endwalker didn't have these login options so it was a lot worse for longer. you'd have to be logged in to server hop, for example, and there were a few posts of world hop queues going for several hours for people who did so for hunts or rare fates. personally i loved Endwalker early access and highly recommend it for anyone who can play, regular patch days simply don't compare. i would also advise that you set your chat window to "Event" or turn off say, shout, and yell if you need Free Company chat because people do try to spoil some things. that said, i had (and will have) the luxury of being able to login very early in the day and won't have to worry about queue times much, and not sitting in a login queue for 20+ minutes definitely helped my experience a lot.

Do keep in mind each even expansion, historically speaking, has had Que issues (AAR, SB, EW) while the even number of expansions haven’t. Also given the amount of new servers and cloud servers added I don’t think the ques will be that bad. Also Covid prevented them from getting new servers for Endwalker which made things rougher than they should have been.

i'm honestly expecting/hoping the launch will go smoother with a couple of things in mind 1) they have resources for additional servers as needed as well as the current extra 50% capacity 2) as far as i'm aware, there's no sudden MMO exodus for people to tsunami into xiv like the summer before EW's launch (remember, it was such a large pour into xiv that they ran out of digital copies to sell on all platforms available at the time) i'm hoping for a smooth launch, but i'm not gonna tear my hair out if the launch is a bit tricky

you do, it's said that paid owners get priority, and for those in their homeworld server get priority, as homeworld players, and players data traveling are queue prio'd differently, it's said in the video

As someone from Dynamis, it's going to suck being trapped and unable to DC travel because I don't see duty finder queues improving, and if anything it's probably going to drive some of what few people we have to re-roll elsewhere so they can escape. I don't imagine too many people from Aether/Primal/Crystal will come over either due to everything they lose access to when not on their home server, or how it feels like people from APC don't seem to like playing with people from Dynamis in general, so they'll take the hour log-ins to avoid coming over.

and remember that during peak hours it's very likely that you won't be able to enter or leave houses in housing districts! it shouldn't cost anybody a house or anything, but there were at least a few people trapped in houses for a bit during Endwalker launch.

I have a great way that I got out of the Server Congestion thing... I moved my character , and all my FC mates over to Golem Server on Dynamis. It's 4 new worlds on that data center, and if you can move, do it! The congestion issues will be non-existent.

the current ques don't actually mean the world is full, as they don't have the servers operating at maximum in order to allow for world travel and DC travel. with those both being shut off for the most part, all the 'power' can be put into the main que.

since i came back in '22 there was a queue to log in every damn time.... unless there were hundreds after a DDOS attack it takes like 10 seconds....

@@Azhrei2000 The reason there's a que every time is because, like many things, it's a server load thing. To lessen server load, they have it set up to log people in in batches, which is the que you are talking about. It goes for a bit, gathers a few people, then logs them all in at once, instead of answering 40 different request over the course of that minute, it just answers a bigger one

I had a blinding flash of insight watching this, I think "Early Access" could be a way they are splitting the traffic between content/zones and logins (to a more limited extent) People are going to be most active in my experience for about a week then start to taper off, by releasing the valve on the players likely to slam the caps early it would ease the pressure on actual release day some.

they had early access for EW too. It was horrible from day 1 of early access unless you logged in early in the morning. And early access is only 5 days. And people are still trying to log in even if they don't have access to Dawntrail content yet. It doesn't stop you unless you are on the free trial. Early access doesn't help at all. Especially since the graphics update is a thing. People will want to see if it even if they didn't buy DT yet. Because everyone gets it regardless.

It may only be 5 days but that is still 5 days to test a a *slightly* smaller group then the full to watch for cracks. EW and ShB were such spikes they were not ready, I still think they are using this as a pressure release if only a small one.

There is no "early access". Its just marketing. You can buy the game anytime and play it from 28th onward, that's no different from fully released.

your hopes are fruitless, many people want to play = big queue. It's as obvious as trains being packed during rush hour. There's no getting past it. Just turn the game on and start queuing while you do something else, everyone else is going through the exact same wait.

Just got DCed today in an duty and now im getting constant 90002 errors unable to log in, same situation as your video a few weeks ago. How did you get this fixed?

As mentioned in the post that this video is covering, error 90002 means an internet disconnect. It could be you internet disconnecting for very short bursts and then reconnecting again, a pretty common symptom of driver issues.

It honestly wouldn't be a bad idea if you just wait a bit and play when the servers aren't super congested. Some people just wait a month or two afterward and then they play without having to worry about that. The other issue I'm worried about is not the que, but after you get into the game and play for 30 minutes and then you disconnect because of the server congestion and then you logging back in and be stuck in another 30 minutes que again. Meanwhile, this cycle keeps repeating so you're essentially just playing Que Simulator at that point 💀

this afk kicking is such bulshit.... some of us are older, and have reasons our toon are afk but WE MIGHT NOT BE. I have RA and tendonitis, I take breaks a lot..... doesnt' mean i'm not still at the game... and how can I answer questions people might have if i'm kicked while i have an ice pack wrapped around my wrist for awhile while i watch whatever show i'm playing? That's just ONE reason....
