Playing The Bowl of Embers (Hard) for only the second time, we all get caught out by Meteor, and only one White Mage survives... what happens next is crazy. I'm still in awe, even now...

flameshana9 To be fair, many parties don't want ballads because of the 25% debuff in damage. If black mages are rotating properly, they should never need a ballad and a sch/smn will seldom need it because of aetherflow stacks. The only character I routinely run into mp issues with is with white mage.

MMOStein i bought WoW recently for a first try in it, ive been playing a lot of mmorpgs or action mmo but now i understand why some just cant let wow as something of the past the WoW lore is deep and not only the main plot sub missions or a lot of random quests give to you new stories about the ppl of azzeroth and this is really amazing in a game, i see that is a outdated game(non plastic movement or idk old vfx effects) and i really hope that blizz with the new movie look again in a way to surpreend the players bring the old ones back and add new ones like me. I dont think in a WoW 2 just a maybe a total rework new systems to the classes idk a lot of stuff that CAN be implemented and everyone for sure will love to see in wow. Sorry for the bad english.

Umm.. actually raiders or anyone that does raids in this game, consider full i240 + a i245 weapon (From the last Midas turn, or Relic now I guess) over i240. That makes you just as uneducated about the game as the guy talking before. While you are right that this video was nothing worth mentioning for, the fact that you only mentioned your item level and not midas savage clears, is all I need to know about what kind of person you are. In which case, the previous person that called you a tomestone warrior was 100% accurate. Good job however on capping your tomes weekly, you are one faithful casual. Lastly, ever since Mhach and whatever that other shitty 24 man "raid" was called, Midas savage become about 80% easier. I know multiple bads that cleared Midas Savage turns, while barely scrapping 1k DPS. Recently even the i245 Relic that sadly, is BiS for every job made it even more brain dead. Yet you're probably one of the 90% of this game that still can't clear the raids lol. I guess that's why you need to boast about your precious item level on random KZbin videos.

I had one hell of a close shave during a fight with Ozma in Weeping City of Mhach. It got to the point where Ozma was down to 1% HP and then suddenly 21 of us wound up dying (including me), leaving only 3 DPS left standing. It became a race to see which would happen first: Ozma killed those 3 DPS, or the DPS managed to wipe out that last 1% of Ozma's HP. Then one of the 3 DPS died....then the next....and then *Ozma* died. It literally ended with just *one person* out of the 24-man team left standing after Ozma died. The entire Alliance was understandably freaking out at how close a call that was.

This happened during my run of First Coils part 5. Our team had been coordinating and we got wiped by the final twisters around end half. One healer and 1 tank survived. They duo'd it out till 3 Bars and the Healer used it to bring us all back. We ended up winning but the healer and the tank sacrificed themselves to get the rez.

Best I ever managed was 5 Commendations as a Red Mage during a run of Orbonne Monastery. I'm in Alliance A. In the final boss fight, Alliance B & C are basically fine as the phase transition is starting (with each having, at most, just one casualty) but Alliance A got absolutely decimated with only 2 survivors, myself and a Bard, our Tank and both Healers had died along with more than half of our DPS. In the 15-20 seconds I had available before I needed to run inside of the barrier to avoid insta-death via Ultimate Illusion, I was able to get 5 of my 6 downed teammates revived (only one I *wasn't* able to revive in time was our Ninja) in time for all of us to get safely inside of the barrier, and then I was able to revive our last teammate during the phase transition once we had killed "Ruination". Not long after that, Alliance chat began to fill will comments like "Red Mage best Job" and "I think you mean rez mage.". Getting that kind of clear praise and recognition made me feel so damn good too. :)

Daga Luv No, the Ex versions had to be out. They examined the white mage near the end and saw some Daystar gear i100. I believe that places this at post patch 2.2. ex primals were 2.1. God I've played this game too long. x_x

The way the game works is that when you do a duty/dungeon/raid/etc, if you don't have a full party... you will have random people added from different servers across the entire game. I went into the battle with my sister, and everyone else was randomly selected from people across all the servers that also wanted to do this battle. As it turned out, one of the random people was also on the same server as me, so that was cool... but everyone else was on different servers.

***** FF14 ARR is amazing though. It is the only MMO the past 5 years that came out with a subscription and still has a sub 2+years later. All the other AAA releases went F2P or F2D or both with micro-transactions within 6 months to 1 year. The new expansion Heavensward is awesome too! This MMO is chasing down WoW. 4+ Million subs & WoW has dropped to 5+ Million atm.

TAMPABLACK Maybe if you just started playing MMOs, sure. Otherwise, it's one of the most basic, standard MMORPGs on the market; inferior in many ways to WoW, even 10 years ago. Personally, I can't stand the archaic MMO design anymore (target based, hotkey, auto attack combat), and the only reason I even played ARR is because I wanted to experience the story, which is the same reason I even played SWTOR. Other than that, unless the combat system of an MMO is action based, then game is dead to me. Hell, it's even dead if it's just a bad game to begin with (Skyforge).

Same game, same boss (extreme mode instead of hard), whitemage and my dragoon being the last men standing, whitemage died trying to rez the tank, and I kited the bloody thing while everyone else told me to die so we can reset. Finished the fight with level 3 limit break. Nobody called me awesome or whatever like that whm Q_Q It meant something significant to me since anything harder than titan hardmode means I'll spend majority of the time being dead. Ifrit being the hardest of extreme primals at the time, me surviving the entire fight, and finished the fight alone, and people kept telling me to die D:

+Ace Strife I have to agree for the most part. I like FFXIV for the story, wide array of end game, visuals etc, but the classes themselves just feel flat to me. No real uniqueness to them, no way to customize class/builds to your playstyle etc. All the DPS classes for example, do about the same amount of DPS (+/- a few hundred DPS) they just go about it differently. Some of the skills on the classes have the lvl 2 version of an ability, as arguably a downgrade (ACN's Miasma 2 vs 1 for example). A lvl 2 version of an ability should be a noticeable upgrade, every time. DoT's in AAR absolutely suck, even with 12-13 of them on a target from you and other party members.

Darren Schoenfisch It’s not really fair to say they were hopeless. Yes they died a lot, but this was also when Ifrit HM was current content, and everyone was at i50. When people do the fight now, they are generally capped at i130, which means they can take 3-4 hits of something that was one-shotting everyone here. Honestly, that just shows even more how good of a healer Celi is, he definitely knows his stuff.

See, I'm kinda the opposite. I hate having the camera zoomed out too far, because everything's tiny and looks like an RTS. It's probably not a smart thing to do at all, but it's also easier to just RP when you're zoomed in more, I think. At least it's not first person! :)

TrAscension RPing and battle pve content are 2 completely separate. If you're trying to RP that you're fighting Ifrit, you better be with 7 other people doing it to, and the 8 of you have a blast. (Even though its really not creative to pretend you're the hero of light and his/her companions in your RP.)

I know the other White mage was beating herself up, but at one point the because the lower item level WHM cast Regen on the higher level directly resulting in her survival with 35 hp about a second later @ 5:14 ... wow I look WAY to much into detail in this game lol.. :P

I watched that after reading your comment, and you are so right. Hoshi's friend may not have been as great as the other but she played a pretty damn good Robin to her Batman, and made her look amazing even if it was just for one spell. Don't get down on yaself. Strive to do better, and acknowledge your short comings, but always give yaself props when you do good. especially in FF14, its an unforgiving game

Steps for a run like this, but without the savior white mage: 1) ilvl 49 vs. Hard Ifrit 2) Zoomed in camera 3) Only dodging AoE's when you're already moving. There you have it folks!

No, not really. I almost always play like this, I forget I can zoom out. I'd imagine people get excited about all kinds of things... it's fun when a battle turns out like this. :)

Why wouldn't you? If it's your first kill, or your in a party that barely pulled it off, or it was a smooth seem less fight. The loot drop may have been the axe you wanted an your the only warrior and you want to glamour it. There are plenty of reasons to be excited. Just the other day I was beyond excited over killing Titan hm, since it meant I'd get my relic for paladin.
