A note on the mystery legs, that's a female hrothgar. She's too tall to be a pelu pelu since they are supposed to be rather small, her texture has fur on the legs, and the encyclopedia eorzea 3 let us know that the guild master of the Gleaner's guild was a hrothgar that's been missing for long enough, they only presume that they are male.

The Pelu Pelu have no fur. The legs we see have fur. In specific, the fur texture is an extremely close match to the Male Hrothgar. Yes I zoomed into the textures. No, I'm not obsessed.

Even though they said the shirt is for the caster specifically, I love that one of them is a dual sword-wielding reptile so it checks for viper I really hope for a “green mage” geomancer that could complete the other three elements (earth wind water) to black mage’s three but there’s so much potential behind a puppetmaster or a pictomancer from the turtles being named after the Italian artists, so much they could do for more “new” jobs to the ff series

Upon my first watch of that cutscene I just thought it was some kind of charm or something (Lucky Charms anyone?!) lol. But when I rewatched that scene and Krile said "earring" I was like ... "Omg, could it be?" XD

If Beastmaster, then I want one thing and ONLY one thing. Give us a Behemoth. It can be like.. A reward for completing the logbook & challenges, or something that is increasingly hard and grindy. But we MUST get one! (Or a Red Chocobo)

THAT would be cool. I can imagine if they did BeastMaster that it'd be similar to Blue Mage spells, where some beasts are only achieveable of getting if running Extreme or Savage content. :)

Puppetmaster seems more fitting for a limited job given that "augmentations" will improve and make the automatons adapt and also to make crafters more relevant in the creation of said "augmentations". I doubt Beastmaster would be a limited job. We already have the ability to cast monster abilities with Blue Mage, so having a "Beast" book will just act like that... but with beasts. So why have it again in the first place? Beastmaster, again, I can see either a TANK or god forbid, another DPS. PLD, as we know it already have potent ranged abilities in the form of Holy Spirit and the Confiteor combo. We already have a pet based healer and DPS, so why not tank? Our main character does all the mitigation and enmity generation, while we order our pets to do the damage for us.. Again with the opportunity to do it in range... Angelo Rush as our Shield Lob/Tomahawk? Riding a big wolf, like Menphina, as a gap closer? Another beast can be employed to do cleaves. Even have a pet that can heal us. Now that I think of it.. Menphina. Her companion can be our companion as we receive her blessing! Weapon would be a bo staff or some chained weapon.

See, when I envision Beastmaster (because I haven't played ANY previous FF games sadly) I think about WoW's Hunter Beastmaster class, where the pet does a significant amount of damage compared to Marksmen or Survival, commanding the beast to attack is just part of the rotation. So if we got Beastmaster, it would be more like a mashup between Summoner and Bard,... maybe crossbows instead of long/short bows, attack from a distance, and command the pet or beast to attack for you.

@@PeninaChan ffxi beastmaster was melee. And since the game has moved out of pets having hp bars, i thought our characters are still tanking while our pets supplement our damage dealing.

I honestly couldn't see the fur, or at least the texture didn't look like fur to me. Of course I could be wrong, and honestly I hope I am, just something else to be excited for. :)

The TMNT clue was for viper. The duel swords are front and centre. I don't think it had a clue for the caster job. I'm expecting a support caster, adding things like haste, double, triple, slow etc along with elemental attacts of their own.

I forget where in the keynotes or one of the panels after, but IIRC they explicitly said the shirt was a hint to the caster job.

I thought it would have been genius of Yoshi P if he found a shirt that somehow encompassed all 3 new jobs, Reptile and Dual-Wielder (Viper), Green (Green Mage), Artist Names (Pictomancer). Regardless of what it is, I'm gonna play it!

That would be amazing, but for Lore reasons I can't see how it would be possible. Maybe we could get housing on the First ... first? But Old Sharlayan and/or Radz-at-Han would be the likely two candidates of where we'd get housing next. ... or maybe the Moon?

Id honestly still love for blue mage to drop the limited part alongaide a rework. Cause they have so many skills that they learn from enemies however a large majority of their skills are kinda useless. I would also be able to meet the Whalaquee themselves since we are traveling to their land, get to learn more about them and the discovery of Blue Magic.

That would be a cool series of quests, either as side or tribal quests. I would be SHOCKED if my little joke about Blue Mage becoming the new caster (removing the limited part) turned out to be true. It would be a foot-in-mouth kind of moment. lol. :)

Can't wait for Tokyo FanFest. I feel like with Aloalo Island, it's got to be puppet master, but whatever they reveal is going to be fun. Always excited about more inventory space for anything! Housing, glamor, glamor plates, armoire. Also, I wonder if they'll give everyone a free fantasia with the graphics update.

I think in a recent interview the inventory, glamour place, etc, was brought up. They are working on it, but the housing item limit has been the main focus for now, along with fixing all the spaghetti code from the last 10 years. But yeah. I really came back into FFXIV at the tail end of Shadowbringers, and have mained Reaper and Sage since then. I know I'm looking forward to playing Viper. Let's see what else Square has for us. :)

I’m simultaneously super hyped for being around for an expansion release for my first time ever but also very worried I’m gonna slack too much and not catch up to MSQ in time to experience the expansion in its first few weeks with everyone else since I just started Stormblood. I don’t want to rush myself but I do want to catch up so hopefully I can beat Stormblood by the end of the month

My Advice: Pace yourself. Don't Rush. Don't do what I did. I had rejoined at the tail end of Shadowbringers and purchased a story skip to "catch up" and felt the same way of trying to 'catch up' in order to play Endwalker when it finally released. I was still in the early stages of 5.0 when Endwalker dropped in December 2021. It wasn't until around then end of February or mid March when I finally made it to Endwalker where all my other friends had beaten it, and I've had to leave chats to avoid spoilers. Turns out there was much I missed out on that would have made Endwalker FAR more enjoyable when I did finally cross the finish line. If Dawntrail's launch is anything like Endwalkers, the queue times to log in are going to explode, even if they are testing cloud data servers to offload some of that. Every MMO game with a new expansion launch (speaking from WoW experience) has a massive uptick in wait time. It's not a race. Take your time and enjoy it, and hope to see you when you finally do. :)

Take your time. You got around 5-7 months. That is plenty enough of time to do everything. Don't skip side content and just take your time enjoying it.

I got my whole ass race choice on it being Green mage and Pictomancer. Sure we got the viper guess wrong but thyen again Viper is an entirely original job and had no hints in endwalker. Green mage and pictomancer have there prints all over the back end of endwalker

Anything really is possible at this point. Though I think some people are a little annoyed that Square calls Viper an 'original' job, when other's point to Zidane, the thief, being his style of fighting with the two blades into 1 glaive. I don't really care about that. Viper looks bad ass, and I'm excited to try out whatever they throw at us.

@@PeninaChan The Zidane comparison drives me insane ( Zidane is my favourite FF char of all time and he does not convert swords into a glaive like they keep saying. Zidane uses daggers and combines them

I don't want anymore limited jobs. Screw blue mage I loathe and hate carnival. I'm stuck at 122/124 skills forever. Carnival is savage level BS. I don't have time or motivation to spend the 900000 hrs to finish it after the 90000000 tries just on one stage.
