Were you excited about FFXIV Tokyo Fanfest? I know I was! Did you guess that we were getting Female Hrothgars. I sure as heck didn't. Here's a quick breakdown of what we know so far regarding the latest addition to the playable races coming in FFXIV Dawntrail.
Updated Note: The Female Hrothgar's name is Wuk Lamat. Hey, I was pretty close with my initial pronounciation!
Note: I am unsure of the correct pronounciation and spelling of the female hrothgar's name from the trailer. I did my best from what I understood Kate said during the Keynote. Once we get an official confirmation of the spelling and pronounciation, I will make an update here.

Apparently the character's name is actually Wuk Lament (as opposed to Ukulment as some people were spelling it, and I'm not entirely sure on the pronunciation), the voice actress made a tweet about it, but she has since deleted her tweet and changed some of her twitter settings. Not sure if you saw or not since posting this video, figured I'd share.

Oh Dear. I hope she is ok at the very least. Yeah I wasn't very much able to spell it, and was trying to listen back to the keynote multiple times in order to hear how Kate pronounced the name. I did my best with my brain power and mouth flaps to forum similar phonetics. Thank you for bring this to my attention. I'm sure once we get and official pronounciation and spelling of the name, I'll issue a correction in my description.

If they're going to go through the trouble of making our current customization options look pretty, they could at least give us more than 4 face options to work from. Oooh.... what if we get facial sliders?

I don't real hearing that part, but maybe I missed it. I understood it as "We're giving you a free fantasia just incase you don't like how your character looks with the graphics update, so that you can go back into customization and adjust" (as in with what options are already currently available.)

Lol. Thank you. I'm by far the only one. I know Lucy Pyre swapped back and forth between two different characters, or at least character designs. Most of my characters are Male with like only 2-3 females. If I'm gonna stare at a character for 8-10 hours a day, I want it to be something I like staring at.

How do you do that lip sync with your character? It looks good!

Thank you. :) It's a setting in Gpose, the tab where you can select emote, there's a lip movement option with 3 different speeds.

I like female Hrothgar (no i'm not a furry i just like the look of female hrothgar) and I will definintely look at them very carefully on the Benchmark how they move how the feet are from behind when they are running the posture of the joints... All this is important for me. If i like it i will fantasia into female hrothgar. But i need to make sure that i like how they move. For example: i like elezen, the way they Look but I absolutely can't stand how they are moving, so hopefully they got the movepattern right with the fem hroth

@@PeninaChan I'm playing currently a Female Viera^^ I was so relieved that they had a good walking cycle. But I am also curious about female Hrothgar... although it will be difficult to find a classy glam for them^^ I mean a glam that has style and not a glam that shows too much fur in that case XD They have this selfconfident strong look but if the walking cylcle is not good.... oh lord... I would be dissappointed.

@@PeninaChan Maybe we will see sooner^^ in the benchmark^^ But what is this furry talk all about... I've heard that more often in Reaction Videos... "Furrys rejoice" or "Furrys ruin everything" I mean... why the ppl give them so much attention? ^^ wouldn't it better to ignore them to give them no stage?

@@saradelany395 It depends. I don't have an issues with most furries, but there are some that are just so toxic and degenerate that they give the rest a bad name. But that's kinda most demographics. Some think that ignoring them is best. Some think mockery works better.

lol. I think at the end of the day, Square is gonna keep giving us what makes us happy to keep logging back into the game. Not enough housing item slots? working on it. Where's Female Hrothgar? You got it. What, you want more dying options for your glamours? It's a stretch, but we can try to fix the spaghetti code to make it work. But you gotta give us money so we can upgrade the hardware to run all this extra shit. We'll put it in the next expansion. If you promise to buy our game, we'll give you what you want. :)

Genome's ( thats the actual name of the creations ) would be fucking sick and the one race I would absolutely race change to if we got it . They also could exist as cannon in ffxiv cause they were created by Garland on Tera to assimilate a new planet as theres was dieing.

@@MythSamael they would have to call it something else though an give them an original background cause well.. the originals didnt quite last too long lol an those that did had no free will of their own excluding kuja and zidane who were given the souls of super strong individuals. though i also heard people wanting the burmecians from the same game however tho we already have the qiqirn race which is basically the same thing lol some also want garlean as playable but at the end of the day they would just be really tall hyurs but with the eye thing in their foreheads xD

​@DeusGamez Biggest problem with playable Garleans is that it's firmly established they as a race CAN'T DO MAGIC. It's what got them initially run out of Eorzea, and will lock them out of the majority of Classes/Jobs available.

@@star20alpha simply not true because some garleans are half blooded and others found ways to do magic thru other means it would be an easy thing for the devs to incorporate an easy work around cause remember that each race has tribes an they could easily write in a tribe that specializes in manipulation of aether thru the useage of magitek etc there is no need to gate keep a race just because of per-established lore etc take the viera for example the pre-lore was that the males are reclusive and live above the trees and hunt from the shadows or at night an only appear in settlements once a year to breed an to take the male youth who have come of the age to mature fully to join their ranks but then that conflicts with the other tribe which is migratory an travels the realms in the original trilogy so matsuno gave yoshida the A-ok to bring male viera into the spotlight an be playable characters etc

Maybe, but they did say it would depend upon us. I think they might want to avoid the same logistical issues Viera and Hrothgar's gave them with the headgear.
