Today we’ll be working on the FG 1/5 4WD RC CAR! That’s right its time to roll up the sleeves and get the hands dirty with a good old fashioned Clean & Maintenance
I’ll be covering things like, FG 1/5 4WD RC CAR belt replacement, RC Car cleaning, shock rebuilding, diff rebuilding and plenty of How To Tips and Maintenance Tricks from the Workshop.

After heavy cleaning I use WD40 on the plastics . Let it soak in for a day or so . Wipe off heavy WD . Looks brand new . Plastics love WD ! Both petroleum products.

Those shocks come up a treat. A video for suspension settings on the mini would be good.

Hey Mark, love the videos thanks for the info. Bunch of us runFG 4wd at SCS could use more info on the FG’s, setting brakes, setup or at least how to make some adjustments on suspensions.

Just bought my first fg offroad car and the reason i never bought an offroad uptill now was because of the cleaning so thank god for you for making this video for us who is not so mechanical inclined. Great video, and great explanations. Btw consider polishing your shock rods if u want to bring them back to life

Off road would be so much fun (if only I had the time to do everything!!) do you have a compressor at home? (or track) I'd be lost trying to clean cars without mine! and great tip re the shock rods! its a shame you cant adjust the preload on the fg shock sealing o-rgings! Thanks for sharing Mate!

@@MarkThomasson76 Well i love onroad cars like dtm and such but only have offroad tracks within 3 hours of driving so that's a problem, but now i finally got my offroad so now i have tracks aswell, have just been riding parking lots with my onroad. Yeah i need a compressor of some sort, it makes it all alot easier. But I have a big issue with my new car, i got it to start easy but runs best at 0.80 turn from bottom of the L screw and everytime i gave it a some gas it either died or only moved a few meters, making it more rich it would just die faster, then i noticed it was leaking from the stock exhaust so change it to the fg tuned pipe with new gasket and all and seems fine and tight but now it won't start at all, have checked everything, no leaks and spark is fine aswell as timing and compression. I am tearing my hair out, what little i have left. It's a new zenoah g290rc and my onroad is a 270 and the 270 has worked flawless for years. I might use your carb video and tear that about as i don't know what else it could be now. Super annoying. Btw it's a wt990 carb as my onroad and never had issues with them.

Thanks Legend!! Mate I used your tip on my Mecatech brake discs the other day! even passed it on to some other club members! so thank you!! oh if anyone is wondering what the tip was... brake cleaner and a scotch brite pad - brings fiber discs back to new again!

Cool to see how clean it gets! Gonna work great now! Engine rebuild, both a stock one, and a tuned one. Maybee take a look at the comparesin between them. Allso a great video wuld be about the FW01 active diff, and maybee some technical bits about it?

I have some great tricks and tips to show (demo) I'll be demonstrating in real life the difference some modifications make! I'm running a bergonzoni diff (which needs a rebuild, leaking output shaft) I can get my hands on a Mecatech Active tho - so great tip and a video i'll be making then! Thanks!

Recently i discovered great tool for cleaning my 1/5 rc's. Its a brush for horse's hoofs it has super hard bristles and metal picker on the other side and it cost me like 2$.

Hey mark!! Nice videos youve got here, really help me alot with all tip and triks, could i ask you two things? Nr1 could you tell me where you buy your grease for the diff? Is there a web shop for this? Link? And nr 2 What kind of oil do you run in your suspension on this video? Same oil in the front as in the back of the car? U got a webshop page for this also? Or a link. I drive a fg 2wd sportsline that needs som work in the suspension.. best regards from norway rock on mate;)

Thanks Mate! those things of yours are beasts!! Young #27 Blair runs an EVO 8 ! which is my old car - I love it!! actually there's nothing in my lap times between the FG and Mecatech!! two big upgrades would be - shocks (mecatech) and Diff (there plenty of good ones out there) make sure to let me know if you end up with one!! send some pictures!!!

Hey Mate, I have a couple of simple DIY tricks for getting more out of an engine, unfortunately the mini runs in a stock class. I’m planning another video on engine mods tho (I actually can’t wait for that one, so many cool things planned for it!!) cheers legend!!
