My all time favorite knot. Use it all the time for jigging in fresh water. Great tutorial...

@@FloridaFishingCouple yes, I've been using the technique from Salt Strong, by wrapping one tag end around pinky, but your way is better.

This is great. Almost like an Alberto knot but I like this better. Thanks Dan.
@FloridaFishingCouple2 жыл бұрын
I used the Alberto knot for awhile but it was not as strong as this one. Most people use the Alberto because they have difficulty tying the FG. This changes all that.

@@FloridaFishingCouple yes I agree. I'm going to attempt this. Must watch this video more than a handful of time. Thank you for sharing.

Its always good to have a "go too" knot that you can tie in the dark... this is a very easy one to tie without looking at it, once you have done it a few hundred times... lol.. when it's really fun is standing waist deep in a cold river in the dark holding onto your fly rod...
@FloridaFishingCouple2 жыл бұрын

I have been doing the double uni for a long time but it kept hanging up on the rod guide. This knot slips right through.

Hey Dan. I've been using the FG for a few years now. It's a great knot. I tie it a little different than you but it's the same basic concept. I strongly suggest buying a set of line pullers to synch the knot down without cutting your hands. It allows you to pull a lot harder on the knot. It's a great tool to have if you use he FG a lot like I do.
@FloridaFishingCouple2 жыл бұрын
Where can I get one? I could really use it because I often slice through my finger with the braid when pulling the knot tight.
