It is important for the government to acknowledge and address the concerns of its citizens. While it's understandable that things may not always go as planned, it is crucial to provide transparent explanations when expectations are not met. I was about to consult my stockbroker on purchasing FGN bonds, but now I feel I lack the motivation to invest. We often refer to government as an abstract entity, but it’s time to hold specific individuals accountable for their actions. We should identify and expose those responsible for mismanaging people's life savings on social media, especially if they fail to provide a proper explanation for any defaults. If the public doesn’t make them understand that they are meant to serve the people, those in power will continue to act as if they are untouchable. I rest my case!

Madam Flo, Ive always agreed with your views and even provide clarification to others. But today, I choose to have a different view. This your post is an overkill. We don't need to go to Havard to know that the protests must have been the reason for the reschedule of the August offer. Other Investment analysts actually guessed right. Same might have affected the delay (by the way, the use of the phrase "non payment" is misleading). I have been investing in FGS Bond since 2019 and one or two day delay is not unusual. Likewise its not like it doesn't happen anywhere else in the world. No point in making Mountain out of molehill.

You speak from a place of comfort because you did not introduce thousands of people to FGN Savings Bond. You did not have hundreds of people in your bootcamp waiting for the announcement. You did not have hundreds of people in your inbox (most of whom have been burnt before due to scam investments and finally they want to try again very afraid because someone they trust says this one is ok) asking why the first coupon payout did not come. You are not the one on the internet broadcasting and singing praises of this investment. No problem, we don't have to agree on everything BUT you should be consistent on the side of the agreement you are on. INFORM the investors if anything goes amiss, simple. Your conclusion was inferred from their antecedents. So, you can't hold them responsible for that. In my opinion, I think anyone wouldn't want to invest in Federal bonds. For me, I think the best area to invest in Nigeria will be in the top 5 banks and publicly traded companies. I would avoid anything that involves federal or state government, unless it's Anambra state. My number one investment choice in Nigeria is buying stocks of the top banks for dividends and access to loans in the future. Or I might just put the money I would have invested in stock into a fix deposit account with a 10 percent guaranteed annual returns in one of the banks. I know at least one bank that can guarantee you 10 percent annual return on a fix deposit account. You just have to deposit at least six million. If you talk the bank manager, they might give you special waiver and accept 3 million. If you deposit ten million or more, you can actually negotiate for higher return above 10 percent. Number two is to buy lands and properties everywhere in the East. Only in the southeast though. Finally, I will venture into Agriculture, focusing only on tomatoes at the beginning to cut the monopoly of the North in that area. Next will be cows and chicken. Again to break the monopoly of the North. It is shameful that we still depend on the North for basic agric products like tomatoes and fio fio lol
