I played FGO and Genshin, then I tried Arknights and I originally thought it was the first one I'd drop, but over time it slowly grew to become my favorite game. The music, the visuals, the gameplay, the lore... every time they release a new event or a new song, I just can't get enough of it.

Maybe the strongest selling point for me, I have got almost all the 6stars. They make it so easy to get all the characters. Maybe a whale might see that as boring. But as a light spender who can save up gold cetrs, buy 6star recruitment ticket, and after I lose my 50th pull my rates go up. This is a god send.

Agreed. Started with FGO, tried some other gacha games here and there, but Arknights is the one that fully holds my interest. If I had to drop FGO or Arknights, it’d be FGO in a heartbeat despite the fact I’ve invested way more into it.

@@vice2792ocl Yes, being a low spender/f2p in FGO is hell. You save for an entire year skipping all banners just to get what you want and still may not get it. Also, IMO some events are too silly and lighthearted, devaluing the IP as a whole (I come from the original VN days)

@@vice2792ocl Except Arknights gacha is horrific. The split banners and limited reruns with minuscule percentages are awful when combined with the paltry amount of free orundum given out. As far as gameplay, Arknights is *far* superior to FGO. FGO is very brain-dead in comparison, though Arknights is not without its faults. Specifically, many later levels are designed entirely around certain OP limited units, which is not good design philosophy. Overall though, that's certainly possible to overcome, but it's not as forgiving as FGO where there are far fewer "required" units. FGO takes the story category by a landslide. Not really much to say there as its story is the main selling point and why the majority of people play it. Well, that and brand/character recognition.

Two f2p players I know who've played over 2 years have over 75% of 6* just from daily play, and I've heard similar from many other longtime players. Split banner can be a scam but past the guaranteed 5*, but most people consider it to be similar to rolling on fgo story banner in terms of being bad value compared to the solo rate-ups new characters get. I'm not sure where you got the idea that content is designed around lims. As someone who's played since launch, I'd say Nightingale in JT8-3/H7-4 and Horn in CC9 are the only times a stage has ever been exponentially harder without a specific unit. Lims like Skalter and Chalter are strong units, but them, or any other 6*, trivializing certain maps doesn't mean maps are designed around them. It's like how some maps happen to have an Ifrit tile and others don't. Max risk CC is basically the only time something is a must own, but in that case there's no reward and it requires pot whaling on perms anyway. Lim banners can suck if you get unlucky, but the chance of getting the units before spark is exponentially higher than many other gacha games with the soft pity system.

The good thing about arknights is that EVERY operator has a value and usefull, for example as a f2p i can Almost clear the whole game without ssr but showcasing your 6 star ops arent really mean you gonna have an easy time because there's a lot of stages where the game requires you to make a strategy to clear that stage.. OR you can brute force that stage Using Thorns, Chalter, NTR knight, Ling, Silverdaddy or Using the ice cream Goddess her self Surtr. The gacha meanwhile is good as the pity of 60 to have a guaranteed 6 star op, well i guess on oct 19 with the release of chapter 10 and its newest defender Horn(y) and after that we gonna get the Anniversary With the release of Lady of the Sea nun Specter the unchained and Jack Irene. The story and lore meanwhile is well.. you can experience it first hand. Just Fcking hate that Guy Who Has A name of Mephisto. Good luck my new fellow doctor!

Yeah I also started playing this game as a secondary game but it ended becoming my favourite gacha game. The only problem is... the farming, but it takes the same time as in FGO, more or less.

Thankfully, there's auto deploy in Arknights to mitigate the pain. I don't have to manually manage my farming run all the time and can leave it running and do something else until the auto is done.

Arknights is probably the best gacha game if you can stand tower-defence gameplay of course. It has very good plot even outside "the gacha games standarts" and every event is a great addition to the lore and has decent or very good plotting (they even add all of them permanently after reruns). Music in this game has almost all popular genres and you can unironically make a playlist to listen outside the game. Almost every new SSR operator nowdays has their own theme (that are not in the game, Hypers literally make a video on their channel with it in addition, that is actually insane if you think about it because all of them are independent full scale songs that have no "business value". One of them was created in a fictitional language (!)). Gameplay is fun if you like genre and they always trying to do something really new. Sadly "gacha standart" also force them to add "broken units" that destroy any challenge but if you still don't have them OR you want some fun and don't use them - it's almost infinite source of fun play. The whole point is that Arknights is UNDOUBETLY created by creators and artiststs, not only businessmans and there ARE people here who really WANT to make a cool game with cool plot and world. Despite the fact that I am the fan of Type-Moon almost 12 year I can't deny that they are almost dead as creators and now it's just another "business company" those decisions controllet by pure money profit and FGO actually makes poor work if we go outside of "gacha games standarts" and they still live only on the basis of the work that was already done in the past. The game definetly has it flaws (for example insane threshold of entry) but I advise any of you who read this comment try it and play at least a month. If you read events and main plot (that's very important) there is a very high chance that you will stay here for a long-long time.

Point being, if you can't explain why a game is good in a few sentences, then it's probably not. I play FGO, love it to death. But you know what keeps me going? The story. The rest, gameplay, mechanics, GACHA? It puts me off. I'm not gonna lie when I say the game's shit aside from its story. And some characters that I have a clear bias towards. Arknights? The tower gameplay already puts me off, the hideous UI not to mention, and I have to think? In FGO at least I can full stack on my favorite character and doesn't have to worry too much about strategy. Story itself ain't gonna help it. And some of the characters, just by their name already puts me off. Kaltits with hardly any tits, Mr. Nothing which is a lie because he's clearly a thing, and the Bunny girl.... Yeah, no. So, again the problem is not in "oOOhH ScaWWy wOoOwDS" it's everything *asides from* it. And again, my reply ISN'T about the Arknight's story, it's about the first paragraph, third sentence in this reply.

Played arknights for a bit (stopped at schwarz's event I think) and had to stop after the amount of IRL sanity I lost just trying to farm mats for my favourite characters (not to mention the in game sanity cost). It became pretty tedious in gameplay so I just went nah. Came back to it just this year and I was like, "lets give it another go..." And my god, the units I need just to clear content, plus farming for those units, plus not having enough sanity to farm on even a regular basis was just causing me to lose it. Gameplay is still as tedious as before and now, I can't even clear a lot of the content with low rarity units even if I follow kyostinv guides. Honestly, I just went nope after a month and hadn't downloaded it again since... (Not to say its a bad game, people enjoy different types of games. This one just isn't my type)
