The "horse" is Annihilation Phantom Beast - La Bête du Gévaudan
Gimmicks:
- Forced frontline with Gorgon, Hessian Lobo & Jeanne Alter
- You can field more supports / Avengers in the back for insurance
- The enemy can attack up to 6~7 times per turn
- Similar to the battle with Britomart Alter, you want to break his barrier with a NP then hit him with Lobo's attacks. This will inflict Def down and Action down on him, helping your survival
- Try to use Jalter NP to break him, as it will block the break gauge buff

You know, instead of punishing us for using Extra Classes, Ordeal Call feels more like a trial to test our ability in commanding and bonding with Extra Classes. Like this one is clearly impossible to clear unless we bonded with a bunch of strong Avengers, as the world itself forces us to use Avengers here. If it's to punish or make us atone, then it should be the exact opposite where they ban Avengers instead.

As we more or less figure out by the end of OC1, the Ordeal Call is less of a punishment and more to make us/humanity understand the Extra Classes. Papermoon's scenario was more or less caused by its AI deciding that the best path forward was to mass produce Alter-Egos, yet nearly all of them were merely just emptier versions of their base forms besides Saber Medusa (which doesn't go unnoticed by story), and the lesson was pretty much "Alter Egos are more than Just pieces of a heroic spirit"

Bro that's the most badass design ever, I really hope they pull a Tametomo/Medusa Saber and release him later on a Wild Hunt themed event, but I feel like I'm just overdosing on hopium... We never got an alter before the actual servant so the chances are abysimal :(

While I'm right alongside you with hoping to summon them, I think you're inaccurate on the not getting an Alter before the original. While the devs might not recall, please don't forget Artoria Lancer Alter, another king if the Wildhunt who appeared 3 singularities before her normal counterpart. Its highly unlikely cuz he literally has a single attack animation 99% of the time. At least any other Servant released as playable has full combos and etc animated out.

Theodoric the Great? This gives me hope that Lasengle might finally start looking at servants from that era more. Sure we've had Altera for a while, but there are many more people from Antiquity that could probably make for great servants. Alaric, Arminius, Aurelian, Hannibal, and Belisarius - just to name a few.

@@nervmeister This is the "out-of-universe" explanation for his nature, IE which real-world concept of "Charlemagne" is he based on. Within the Nasuverse setting, however, it's made explicitly clear that the events of the Matter of France actually did occur. We get flashback scenes from Astolfo where he talks about how Saber Charlie became Ruler Karl after his encounter with Velber, and the game also explicitly states that these two are the same person at different stages of their life, just as real as one another, and compares the situation to Young and Old Li Shuwen. The game ends with Ruler accepting that he was once Saber and the two becoming a single Heroic Spirit.
