oh trust me it will. 600kw of power it will have. most of that will be on the front motor with 250kw there and on the rear axel motor it will be 350kw as we have now. so full AWD with gen 4. and also bigger battery. somewhere around 70kwh vs 48kwh what gen 3 has now. better tyres. will likely still be grooved all weather tyres. but even better grip still. Bridgestone will be the supplier that time. so yeah F1 with its 2026 regulations is not looking too hot atm.

I’m glad they are getting a speed boost, but it doesn’t seem to limit the dramatic dynamics of the car… so racing should still be fun!!!

I would like to see tyre change even if there's just one mechanic per side. There'd be longer pit stops than F1, but it would keep costs down and give more time for recharging, making races longer and more dynamic.
@AERONOOB
@AERONOOB Ай бұрын
There is just no use for it. Charging is what you want. But there will be tires for dry&damp and full wet. So we might see some tire change due to weather.
@jesperhammarlund300
@jesperhammarlund300 Ай бұрын
here is my idea. we already know that they will (soonTM) introduce 600kw charging pit stops. and the duration of those will be 30-sec. so why not take that time to change tyres. no need to have a tyre that last the whole race. just half the race this time. that way the can have a tyre with a softer compound than we have now. and that way get more grip
@AERONOOB
@AERONOOB Ай бұрын
@@jesperhammarlund300 sorry, you don't understand the whole mission of FE then. They don't want to waste tires every 20 minutes. The races are way to short anyway. Plus more grip will mean higher overall speed, thus more energy consumption.

there you have it. for the first time ever F1 has been booted from the top of the throne on being number 1 on technology. cus F1 has NEVER been AWD reason is cus u need to somehow get an extra drive shaft to the front wheels. OR get a 2nd engine which can't fit in the nose of a single seater ofc. but electric motors are small enough.

Not to mention, the Lotus 4WD chassis of the late 60's was also built in conjunction with Andy Granitelli's Indy team, which was also using a GE turbine engine for the Indy 500. The first design with the turbine mounted opposite of the driver, whereas the next years design used the then-upcoming 72 chassis with the conventional rear mounting of the turbine. The 72 had the design for a front-mounted drive axle, which was later banned by the FIA, along with all AWD/4WD systems and the use of non-piston engines, along with USAC.

yo admin, can we expect even better racing then we already have?
@Cloxxki
@Cloxxki Ай бұрын
Not admin, but that's obviously the point. Now taking attack mode costs you net track position most of the time, pretty daft. They can't use the extra power due to power saving and especially the brick compound tyres. With 50 kW front wheel drive in attack mode, they can get all that 50 kW worth of extra traction, I would say, and take a lot less time across a short straight. Getting the time gain done early also helps doing it efficiently I would say. If it's well set up, the AWD in corners could even help slightly with cornering speed itself to close gaps and exit a turn with overspeed already.
@BukkitViper
@BukkitViper 29 күн бұрын
Why don't they just restrict the usable amount of energy per race and let the teams do the rest? Why this complication with x kW at the rear and y at the front but regen is different, etc. Why not just set a limit and be done. This way the teams could find the best solution!

FE car, who couldn't even win against F3 car, might be able to match the pace of an F2 car with these new upgrades.

Comparing apples to oranges. FE uses all weather tires vs slick, very little aero downforce compared to F2. I bet adding just slicks would make them very comparable. The lack of downforce via aero is what makes the racing amazing, even if slower around a lap compared to F1 and F2.

It's not a real race car series until the cars have slicks & the drivers no longer avoid leading the race.

So the old F1 cars with grooved tyres aren't 'real race cars' ?
@jesperhammarlund300
@jesperhammarlund300 Ай бұрын
but F1 had grooved tyres up untill 2009. so before then it was not a real sport/series?? on the battery department i can agree on. but why is everyone obsessed with slicks. as we can see here AWD add more traction than what slicks does. as F1 is slower than FE now on the acceleration.

Or go further back, like up to the "turn of the century" in the 1900's, or the 20's and 30's, or from post-war to the mid-70's when the "gumballs" first came on the scene with Michelin, Goodyear, Pirelli, and Dunlop.
