Fiat 124 AS Sport Spider 1969 car review in 4K

In this video i present the famous Fiat 124 Sport Spider from 1969. The car was restored over two years and is now in good condition. The paint is bianco 212 and an original color of the 124 spider. The famous Fiat 124 Spider has the 1438ccm Lampredi engine and run very well.
The content of this video are the interior and the exterior of the car. Also the sound and how it's to drive. Enjoy the video

A 1969 Fiat 124 Spider was my very first car. Looking back, I was extremely fortunate to have such a lovely car. It cost $3590 Cdn direct from the dealer. As I recall it consumed 35 mpg and would easily exceed 100 mph. Amazingly, I drove it all year long, thru some heavy snow storms, never giving it a second thought. Unfortunately the Fiats rusted out quicker than we could imagine. BTW, my example was in Positano yellow.

I had a 1970 in the same white color. Really charming little sports car. Even with the minor problems it always seemed to have, you couldn’t get angry with it. (My motto: owning this car is like building a sand castle at the high tide line) I was stationed at an Air Force base in California where I could drive out the back gate right into the sports car country of the Sierra Nevada foothills. And it was quite good in the snow as well. One weekend I drove it to Squaw Valley in a snowstorm that dropped 3 feet of snow. I stashed the skiis inside the car, put chains on and drove everywhere with no instability at all. I miss that car but still have the hubcaps I kept when I replaced the original steel wheels with alloys. And the original ignition switch and key. The connections inside the switch failed and once left me stranded. Never heard of an ignition switch, of all things, going bad☺️.

Worked at a Fiat dealership here in the States in my younger days and would rebuild and sell them as a side job. Have had many used and new from 850's, 128's, 124's and even a 131. My favorite was a nearly new 1972 , 124 spider, white with red interior with only 12,000 miles. Replaced the head gasket and it was good to go.

My first NEW car was a French Blue 1971 Fiat 124 Spider for $3,200 including 5 slot mag wheels, an AM/FM stereo with 4 speakers, a set of coco mats and tax &. license. I bought a 2019 Abarth 124 Spider last July.

@@lucadrivechannel I think I love both cars just as much. The 1971 was in my youth and it was an amazing car. So far ahead of anything else on the market. So much so that I wound up selling Fiat/Lancia cars for 13 years before moving on when they left the country to selling Hondas. My Abarth is a wonderful car...being based on a Miata is a good thing and the turbo engine makes it so much fun to modify. It is up well over 200 horsepower now and I always look back when I park it.

The last sentence you wrote i like very much. I always look back when i park the car. It shows that your abarth and you match perfect together. It's not important the horsepower or the worth of a car the most important thing are the emotions a car give his owner. Thats the reason why i like italian cars.
