My Nissan just started make a noise every time I shift gears and looks like it is the input shaft bearing. Came across your video and looks like I don’t have the tools or the know how to get this job done on my own. Thank you for your clear instructions.

Thanks for the video, my 79 fiat spider 2000 has the exact same sound problem( clutch out neutral). It has been getting worse lately, it's calling me to skin my knuckles. Your video has helped. like your homemade pusher tool, great idea, Thanks again

+simms196 Glad to help. Seems that bearing is a major weak point in an otherwise great car.

Good vid. Removing the circlip and ring washer was wincing though. you can feel the frustration as the pliers kept slipping off....

Thanks for the video demo. What happens if you try fitting that small circlip and thrust washer on before the larger bearing circlip? Would it be easier you think?

Fiat Focus Unfortunately, I don't think so. It's the pressure of the thrust washer that makes it a struggle getting that small clip on, and I don't think the outer ring would change that.

Fix me next lol, already gearing for new bearing, stage two autocom clutch kit, n gasket set. My Fiat 78 124 is making noise in 2-3-4 gears while in gear between 2700-4000 rpm and increases as RPM's gets higher. But nothing when out of gear or not completely warmed up. And second has pop out issues as well. I guess 8 months of rolling burnouts and hard speed racer shifting got to it.

Sounds more like bad gears or sychros. First check oil quality and volume of transmission oil. If that's ok, you're looking at some major work. Might be worth looking for a used transmission

@@sonordrum1000miura I flushed the transmission twice already. Started after the second flush, I was looking at Vicks new transmission with the new .78 5th gear for $1700 but it will depend on what's available when I get back in country. Found a donor for $500 but who knows if it'll still be there. Guess open her up to check anyways.

had you mistaken the noise for the throw out bearing? I watched your clutch video and you made mention of the throw out being the reason for the job..where did you get the input shaft bearing? great vids!
@sonordrum1000miura9 жыл бұрын
kauboi. Yep, I was a moron and did the throw out bearing, although anyone with half a brain realizes that a throw out bearing noise would be the opposite: noise when clutch pedal in, no noise when pedal released. I think the bearing came from International Parts.

how long did the whole job take you? nice video
@sonordrum1000miura9 жыл бұрын
+Aldean Louis Since I didn't have the benefit of a video, I had to figure it out as I went along, so it took a while. Once the transmission is out you could get it done in a few hours or less. If you do it a second time you could probably do it in 45 minutes.
