In this video we had to throw in a new clutch since his stock one started slipping with the new tune from Tork Motorsports! Damon decided to go with a Clutch Masters fx250 witch will be able to hold up to 250-300 hp no problems!

Congrats on doing your first clutch! As you mention, yes DMF aren't resurface-able. The shudder you feel is normal, it's from the high coefficient of friction on the clutch disk (6 puck clutches are even worse). Not sure how you were bleeding your clutch but I would never remove a line from a slave cylinder. Crack the bleed screen 1/4-1/2 a turn when you have positive pressure on it, such as pressing the clutch pedal or using a pressure bleeder.

I have 2 abarths .... I've done this job about 8 or 9 times for various reasons ... I dont ever comment on KZbin videos but from experience the clutch masters is the best quality and designed clutch out there I've had the absolute worst experience with spec clutch and dont recommenmd it .... the transmission job isn't that hard theres ways to do it super easy ... fiat actually gives there mechanics 4.5 hours to do this job .. it usually takes me about 5-6b hours due to the car being on bricks its alittle difficult putting it in and out..

Thanks for offering on doing the Q n A on the clutch bit.. I have some free play in my AAD and im hoping its just the bushings in the shift cables and not the clutch.. Im on the stock clutch right now and that chatter you feel in reverse I have but its not as noisy? It sounds more like the reverse gear doesnt engage some times and I just shift from 5th to Reverse to eliminate that.. Try going into 5th then R yourself and see if it changes anything for ya? As far as first gear goes? Only issue I have is the way the clutch engages for first gear.. Like it lags on wanting to drive and then my car is like.. Oh were going? Ok.. Lol

M Thompson if your cables are worn or stretched, the clutch pedal would creak when you push in or let out a bit. Chatter on a stock clutch is most likely from it nearing its end. And as far as the shifter not engaging fully, your synchro rings might be shot for reverse. Hard shifting will do that, but you can just let the car roll a couple feet with the clutch in and engaged in reverse and the shifter will pop in all the way. That’s what mine does now. Only reverse though. Hope that helps

Its really just finding a way out i cant really explain its just a pain.. haha. Jack up the engine and get the tilt and from there its just working it
