Fiat Abarth 500 Window regulator repair and upgrade

Just in case you are wondering how to install the glass after installing the clip. Avoid other methods where people force the clip into the canal, that's going to either break it or debilitate it. The best way is. 1. slide the window down, 2. pass the regulator continue down, to do so you'll need to balance the window away from the white plastic piece of the regulator. 3 continue down until you see that the clip is passed the start of the canal where it should slide into. 4. then pass the clip through the start of the canal. After the clip is in place in its canal, slide the window up pass again the white plastic piece of the regulator again and this time make the regulator white plastic part hold the window. Using the controls push the window up to 100% and a little more until you hear the plastic nob of the regulator click into the window hole. You are done. To calibrate the motor hold the button in the up position for ten seconds, lower the window down, hold the button ten seconds.

I have been able to find the guide clips, but I can't find the actual replacement clip that holds the window into the regulator. Do you have a link or some advice?

I have the upgraded regulator in my fiat and the metal pin popped out. The window was missing the plastic guide and I ordered one then tried to install it but it still wants to kick forward when the window is 80% up. Do you have a video or a guide on installing the plastic clip and and prepping the window for regulator install?

Brock Supply used to provide the new regulator, and probably sell it on ebay and such, but it's been pulled by looks of it. Does anyone know why this would be? Looks like I'm stuck buying the clip and cables on ebay instead ($15 USD + shipping). Too bad ... I really was excited to replace it with a superior design.

I had this problem with my regulator. I bought the “upgraded” regulator that you showed. It broke after 3 up/down cycles. I got a replacement and it broke too. The small metal knob that goes through the hole in the glass snaps off. I don’t know what’s going on. :(

Same happened to me. I took a flathead screwdriver and a hammer to the back side of pin and put some tabs to keep the pin from pulling out. It's been a few months with no problems. If that didn't/doesn't work I'm going to put a tack weld on it. Hope this helps-Cheers!

ihave not been able to find them any more. i went back to installing the original plastic one, but also the clip, so you make sure the window is stable.

these clips keep breaking along with the regulator clips. the only way to postpone the damage is to keep the tracks clean and lubbed, so the glass does not have resistance going up and down.

@Frankie's Garage yeah the drivers side got stuck on top and that's what caused it to snap. Thank you for the tip
