I assume you bought online? Tinley Tech are the leading company in Automotive LPG with in house specialists. They supply all regulated installers within the UK. If you'd have called them, they could have provided advice for your install. The regulator isn't connected upon purchase. You should use some thread seal when screwing in any components to an LPG tank. I think you've learnt from your mistakes. It's incredibly difficult attempting an Install on the floor... You did well. It is always worth seeking expert advice prior to fitting the kits.

@@andystuart1533 Hi Andy, sounds fun, very jealous!... 1) If you've got refillable lpg, make sure you've got a French adaptor 2) Probs won't be too cold at this time of year, but if there's a cold snap beware of underslung tanks and pipes freezing, could consider a 12v tank blanket (see my winterization vid) 3) A grippy mat for outside the sliding door in case it gets icy 4) Consider how your going to refill your water, the campsite I stayed at didn't have a hose pipe so meant many trips back and forth with a 20 litre container and I didn't have a funnel so was a bit tricky! 5) Shore power extension cable 6) levelling chocks 7) some beers

Yh the underslung lpg has been great. Switched out from mild steel mounting brackets and am going through the process of fitting a remote level gage now. As far as I'm aware you would only need to have it checked out once a year if you plan on renting your van out
@CormacOSheehan2 жыл бұрын
@@sampayne6318 Oh yeah I heard something about renting it needing more checks done alright. I'm looking for a kit that will be as fool proof as possible, with the electronic valve, remote level gauge and whatever else. I'm just a bit overwhelmed with all the options and which supplier to go with, I've heard of people buying from gasit, autogas and then lpgshop too. I'm actually in Ireland myself so need to be sure I'm ordering the right stuff first time. Do you mean you're NOW using mild steel mounting brackets? What were you using before? Or what did you replace the mild steel ones with and why? I've seen recommendations to spray the tank with stonechip or UPOL Raptor too.
@sampayne63182 жыл бұрын
The brackets my tank came with were mild steel paint black. They rusted pretty easily so have switched to stainless. There's a couple of stone chips on my tank but nothing to lo bad

Good video. Any risk with a rock or something hitting the tank ? Would a guard plate under it be any help ? One other question. Did you weigh the van before you started ? Interested to see how much weight was added with fit out and with the tanks and cabinets full... To see if suspension would need an upgrade.
@sampayne63185 жыл бұрын
Hi David. I think if you're go8ng off-roading in your van then an underslung tank probably isn't the best idea. I would be concerned if I ever ground the van out however the lpg tank is higher up than the diesel tank so I think this would touch the ground first
@sampayne63185 жыл бұрын
Also with regard to weight. This van is rated to 3.5 tonne. I have calculated everything I've added and included allowance for 4 people and luggage and am still within this, so no need to upgrade suspension. She still drives well and the 130bhp provides plenty of pull. I am planning to put her on the weigh bridge at some point to verify my calculations, so might do a quick video on this. Cheers

Thanks mate another great video,just wanted to ask you,do you know,to reclassify your van as a campervan do you need to put your cooking gas bottle in a gas locker,I'm getting conflicting information on this,thanks again,keep up the great vids.
@sampayne63185 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave. There's no requirement to have a gas locker for re-classification. See here: www.gov.uk/government/publications/registering-a-diy-caravan/converting-a-vehicle-into-a-motorhome. You would need one if you wanted to get a gas safe certificate if you wanted to rent your van out but just for re-classification to motorhome there is no requirement to have a gas locker.
