I am surprised the Spitfires lost, but from what I could see it looked like they slowed down and tried to out turn the G50's. It would have been wiser to take the fight into the vertical and used their speed advantage. They also did not appear to support each other. The G50 is no slouch and deserved respect, but I don't think you can argue the Spit had it over the G50 in terms of speed and armament.

Right flight analysis! The AI flying Spits was less Intelligent than me. Obviously Spit was an air supremacy plane, but pilot's tactic could make difference. G50 had only a chance vs Spit: turn! Developing combat in orizontal way, refusing vertical one. The AI made the mistake to accept this tactic with a less turning fighter. Few times I lost this tactic I was shot by Spits. But at the end it was an intense combat. A little of fortune helped me too. Anyway in a Spit vs g50, supremacy fighter means choose the vertical way, extending the flight, climb, gain height and spend it to gain speed, hitting the g50 and run away, till the victory. G50 can't run away faster, it can only turn and trying to evitate shots.

Una Freccia spuntata buona per gli anni 30! Infatti era un assaltatore ripiegato a caccia, come alternativa al CR 42... Del resto gli eclatanti successi colti nella Guerra di Spagna, avevano persuaso che la Regia fosse al passo con i tempi, mentre, proprio in Spagna, i tedeschi avevano creato le basi di quello che era il combattimento aereo moderno, abbandonando l'acrobazia aerea per concentrarsi su attacchi in velocità con armamento potenziato. Anche la FIAT fece i suoi interessi, riuscendo a sfornare fino al 43, CR 42, G 50 e BR 20, velivoli ampiamente surclassati, quando già dal 1939 disponeva della licenza per produrre il DB 601, motore in linea montato sui C 202 e Re 2001; ironia del caso, il G 50 tornò a fare l'assaltatore in Sicilia dopo lo sbarco, seppur con modestissimo armamento di caduta.
