Fiat Grande Punto back doors jammed - resolved problem

Grande Punto 1.4 16V 95KM. Back dors was difficult to open becouse of too long cord. Problem resolved very easy.

@@Minato470 0:46 możesz włożyć kawałek tak na ciętej śrubki, ma ona za zadanie naprężyć linkę bo, fabryczna się wyciąga i później jej zakres nie jest pełny. Druga sprawa jest taka że jest pewne miejsce gdzie dźwignia klamki po pociągnięciu naciska na element który otwiera drzwi i on też potrafi się wytrzeć co za tym, idzie warto dociąć około 2mm plastiku i dokleić. Wtedy wyeliminujesz powierzchnie wyżłobiona i będzie większa szansa na sukces. Ja osobiście Miałem problem z obiema parami tylnych drzwi i jedną stronę załatwiłem także jest super a druga co jakiś czas po zamknięciu z Centralnego zamku się blokuję,

I just want to share my experience and simple fix for me atleast: so issue was similar as in the video, and I just sprayed WD40 on two springs (inside/beyond the knob) which you can see without pulling anything out. Two months later, and door still can be open easily. Just a heads up people.

@@MadsGormLarsen There are two mechanical springs inside the door knob. They are hard to see at first since they are quite small, so make sure to light it up with some strong light to see it precisely. So you can see them without pulling anything out... Let me know if you figure it out, if not I will try to post a picture or something.

that Lpiece is not necesary. Just put something on end of this stell wire. Its too long what cause jamming. Make this tiny part from M6 bolt and put it like on photo.

Ive tried this and it does work but tends to fail again. It problem isn't the Cable, I shaved the arm on the handle and glued on a dust cap (tyre valve cap) at just the right angle, now the handle comes in contact with the lever to pull the cable instantly. You'll get the idea when you take it all apart, I used a 2 part epoxy adhesive and let it set 24 hours before attaching it back to the car.

If you want to do it properly and without any dirty hacks you have to take outside the whole door handle mechanism. On the part the author of this video left inside there is a screw that regulates the 'tightness' of the mechanism. You just have to tighten the screw clockwise and voilá, your problem is solved and back door opens normally from the outside. No dirty hacks. Interestingly, many Fiat car mechanics don't know that you can fix the problem easily by just tightening one screw, and they will tell you that the Fiat (Grande) Punto back door problem can only be solved by replacing the whole door handle mechanism, which is a total nonsense. Fiat engineers have actually thought about it and placed a special screw inside to make it possible to regulate the damn thing.

problem is that tis metal line is too long. Its too long for 3-4-5mm only. I need to check in FIAT service if they have any new corrected lines becouse in never models there is no problems with this doors. So maybe FIAT fix it. I drive alone so for me its not big problem. I dont use rear doors :)

I guess it was not a problem till they faced this problem after manufacturing. It's a steel wire. It will get lose the tension by getting effect of temperature. So first couple years the door will work fine. But they should use something more stable wire to temperature.

Its normal screw I cut in half and made that hole for that metal wire. That was the only idea I had in time. You can do anything that make that metal wire shorter this 3-4mm

Simple! you have to take off the front door inner trim. Then you will see that handle wire/cable is broken or not in its place. Easy to solve it. Just give a gentle touch to her!

Piu chiaro di cosi... la soluzione del problema è dal min 0:43 al 0:53. Se non risolvi anche cosi (dipende quanto ti è allungato il cavo della tua macchina) , basta tagliare l'estremita crimpata e mettere al suo posto un ferma cavo tipo quello dei freni della bicicletta.
