Batang Gilas need taller players for next year FIBA CUP in Turkey... at least 4 players stand 6' 8 feet with athletic and skill that can shoot at 3s. Dribble Drive to the rim is an absolate style, recruit a legitimate shooters.

@@smartgilas5486 NZer here. Mediocre? I beg to differ..... :) NZ has a population of 5 million. The NZ men's team is now ranked 21st in the world. The Philippines has a population of 109 million (according to Wikipedia). Gilas Pilipinas are ranked 38th in the world. Please don't get me wrong - I *love* Gilas Pilipinas and the Filipino people! It's not the case though that the NZ basketball team is mediocre. Our U18 3x3 team has even won the U18 world cup twice!

Also, it will only be embarassing the other way around 😂 Also, it would be better for oceania teams to participate in FIBA Asia to increase the competition. @@dannex98 That’s a myth. It doesn’t matter how good an Asian team will be they will never beat any European or American team without the help of imports in basketball. Height is might in basketball and Asians won’t have that unless they physically evolve overnight. The only exception was Yao Ming who could compete with the likes of Shaq 😂

@robertobcrisol3033 - As a NZer, I disagree. It's completely pointless having Australia and NZ stay in Oceania. They would stay as the only two "big fish" in the pond and would block any up-and-coming Oceania teams. Asia is a *big* Federation, stretching from Lebanon to Japan and Korea. We in NZ have *5 million* people - most Asian countries have *vastly more* than that. Given that fact, there really is *nothing* stopping any Asian countries from beating NZ anyway. ( Australia is a different matter - they have 30 million or so). The very best thing that any team can get is more competition, and that's what Aussie and NZ have got (and also all other teams in Asia now). Teams should not be having a defeatist attitude, feeling sorry for themselves, but instead *relish* the competition! That's the way to improve.
