2 New lines of filament from Polymaker, Fiberon and Panchroma.
We will take a look at the 3 new "engineering" Carbon Fiber filaments Polymaker just announced.
PPS-CF10, A Polyphenylene Sulfide filament with Carbon Fiber
PET-CF17, A Polyethylene terephthalate filament with Carbon Fiber
PETG-rCF08, A Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-modified filament with recycled Carbon Fiber sourced from end-of-life Wind Turbine Blades and are certified to the Global Recycled Standard by TÜV Rheinland (www.tuv.com/usa/en/)
Polymaker Fiberon: us.polymaker.com/pages/fiberon
Also launched today is a very colorful line promising to have a wide choice of colors and surface finishes named Panchroma.

Great video and thanks for the information. Very excited about getting my hands on the PPS-CF10. I have a Creality CR-10S with a few upgrades including the Micro Swiss all metal hotend and an enclosure. I have been able to successfully print with PLA, PETG, and even PC -CF. Only problems I have ever had are the first layers adhesion. Is there a smooth or textured sheet you would recommend? Especially for these higher temperatures like the PC-CF or the PPS-CF10? Thanks again. Looking forward to more of your content.

@EDGEOF3D 11 күн бұрын
I've printed on smooth and textured with no problems, however, with that being said, I apply FrankAF's home brew bed adhesion/release to every printer, every print (or when it starts to wear off anyway). goo.by.frank.af/ I hear all the time that if I knew how to tune my printer, level my bed, set my offset.......... Rubbish, I have spent a lot of time in commercial 3D printing operations and every single one of them uses something. One failed print or one destroyed print bed because the part wouldn't release, it's more than paid for a lifetime supply of this stuff.

You can’t just stick a new hotend in a Bambu and have it work at higher temperatures. The hot end itself is only half of it, the firmware on the printer needs to support the higher temperatures too. polyphenylene sulfide belongs to the family of PAEKS, such as PEEK. it is a strong, very brittle polyner with strength similar or close to PEEK . the virgin polymer itself sounds like metal as it is inherent to this polymer, the CF only adds stiffness and probably strength.
@lucianoag999

Nope, it is not. PPS has either ether nor ketone groups. It only has aryl groups like PAEK.

But I agree. The sounds comes from the polymer. 10 CF doesn’t affect much. The reason for the metallic sound is the low density and low loss modulus. Not the just 4 GPa of elastic modulus. (Al 70 GPa, Steel 210 GPa, Ti ~150 GPa).

That was a problem for me when I was trying to see the product name, the cookie cutter subscribe reminder cut in over the top of it, gah!

"Plastic does not make that metallic ring" - this is not quite true, celluloid for example is very hard and rings have you ever tried running your fingers over the teeth of a comb made out of celluloid? ... and yes, after typing this - i'll take my comment back, by judging your hairstyle you don't use combs very often - i rest my case jk - no offense, my hairstyle is quite similar :)

I guess I should have clarified my statement to say that plastic we typically use in 3D Printing doesn't make that ringing sound.

@@EDGEOF3D nope - all good, we all know what you meant to say :) - but i could not resist the comb-comment - and lets be honest, no man can resist running the finger over a comb, it is like holding a cordless drill and not pressing the trigger - this is simply impossible for a man ;)

As a headphone user, having the audio only on the left channel made this impossible to watch past a few seconds for me. Sorry.

Yeah those DJI mics record mono and it is easy to forget to convert it to stereo when editing, especially if you aren't editing with headphones on.

can you stop showing the subscribe banner 100 times? this is annoying and it is covering the name of the materials. if i want to subscribe, one is enough, the others are just to make sure i don’t.

Claiming it is metal without anything to show for it. Claming the PET has no layer lines and no image to show us. This feels a little like TV shop.

I never claimed it was "metal", it sounds and acts like metal, watch the video. As for the PET, you obviously didn't watch the video, there is a close up at the 11:10 mark of the PET-CF right in the upper left corner of the screen.

it's not Metal, Really you can't take the time to do a closeup of the print? I guess your mug is more important, what an ego.
