Nice to see the huge flying fortresses from Ace Combat in this, I was kinda expecting some Ace Combat aircraft to appear in this. I’m also intimidated now knowing the exact size of the Aigaion and the Arsenal Bird. I knew they were big, but I didn’t know they were THAT big.

I think I got the scaling for the Aigaion mixed with it's support craft, but it being massive makes sense since it launches conventional fighters. I'm honestly surprised the Arsenal Bird is bigger than it

Chad Aigaion vs virgin helicarrier "To make an aircraft carrier fly, we put near-half-kilometer-wide rhomboidal wings on a shortened flight deck- further length being unneeded because it moves with the landing aircraft- laden with rows of jet engines and requiring the open seas to safely land. Maybe it doesn't work out if you actually do the math, but its insane proportions match the insane concept- it's basically all wing, after all." "Uhhhh Nimitz quadcopter?????????"
@hello-hb1ll4 жыл бұрын
Chad aigaion would never fly, it flies at 300kmh
@northropi20274 жыл бұрын
@@hello-hb1ll fair, but I'd say realism is relative. Aigaion being depicted as moving too slow to generate adequate lift with its wings still at least looks more believable than the use of proportionally tiny ducted fans, especially given how hard rotors (and I assume ducted fans in turn?) are hit by the square-cubed law. Aigaion at least has more wing than fuselage, and a lot of traits that acknowledge the implications of a flying carrier like the shortened, straight flight deck (though tbf the OG Helicarrier was intended to be disguised, so its longer flight deck and diagonal landing strip do make some sense). To be clear I can't really hold a lack of realism against a piece of media, but I still like to see a bit where the creators are willing to go for it.
@tntproductions19964 жыл бұрын
@@hello-hb1ll Maybe the Aigaion is made out of some extremely durable and lightweight material. Most fictional aircraft in Ace Combat wouldn't fly very well if they were assembled using current day material.
