Dave, the name of the first tune is "Boatman", it is from the minstrel era. "Th boatman dance, the boatman sing, the boatman dance the pigeon wing"

Salt River, actually; Kessinger recorded it as that on one of his Kessinger Bros. sides. Monroe recorded ca. '64, with Bill Keith on banjo. The story goes that Monroe's previous single release was Big Sandy River, and Decca Records decided that two "river" tunes back-to-back would be confusing to the public, so they renamed it Salt Creek.
