Nice and clear explanation of the weapon parts, how they assemble and how it works, hard to find illustrative videos like this one. The only thing I may suggest is adding a light source above the gun, maybe above the camera, when you showed some close ups of inside the upper or lower receiver I could hardly see what was inside 😅

That odd-shaped piece of metal stamped "S" is the Firing Pin Lock. When reassembling and you are attempting to connect the Op Rod Assembly [2 springs] to the Carrier, your method is SPOT on. If you try to reassemble these units according to the Sig MCX Virus Operator's Manual, you will end up pulling your hair out! MANY Thanks for your hard work in making this excellent video!

I own the german 16" Version. Most interesting for me, when it comes to cleanig, is, that since you Do Not have a conventional AR buffer tube (And instead a simple vertical picatinny with folding Stock assembly) , you can remove the stock easily.. and put the whole lower, (with All mechanics inside) , into a 10l ultrasonic cleaner (complete bolt and dual spring unit too)... And get perfectly cleaned interior devices, ready for lubricatiion, as result 👍😄
@thetexasgunvault Жыл бұрын
I never thought about that. But I am always wearying of putting anything aluminium in a sonic cleaners and putting water into any of my guns.

@@thetexasgunvault No Problem, when you use a good hairdryer or airpressure after cleaning...and two days drying in a normal heated room. after that I use a speciali ceramic lubricating spray for the bolt and firing pin area. Gives fine Flow due to coated surface and seals against corrosion. ...But without any grease-collecting oil content. Rest will get conventional Lubricating with good dosed gun spray. Works fine.

I got a mcx rattler in 556, and it has major feeding/cycling issues. I took it apart and the only thing I noticed was the piston was extremely tight had to use a punch to remove/install it. Is that normal?

Maybe. I would clean it out and see if it runs better. If not, I would call Sig.

You are welcome. They come off in the standard direction. However, do NOT use heat. They are taper locked. You are supposed to soak in water over night.
