Nice review. Surprised how good the Jupiter pics looked using the phone camera.

the phone was samsung i7. the planet itself looked waaay tinnier in real. but if you have good eyesight, on clear night youcan make out details on jupiter. saturn ring look more crispier in reality. there is a lot of over exposure with the phone camera. but saturn rings are crisp on good night.

Planets are very small. But you can still see rings of Saturn, tiny though. Also, my telescope's tracking was not functional.

Can you use the scope manually if you lose power in the field

The short answer is Yes. The mount can be unlocked for free rotation. And the knob can loosen for up/down rotation

You need to add an inexpensive red dot finder to help acquire your targets. Enjoy!
