What a treat on the TTA channel to go on another field trip (and for Rowan as the star of the show at the start)! This was super interesting to watch. I see a lot of people recommending dry ice so if you do get some, don’t forget to squish some with a metal spoon. 🌞

Oh boy. I will start with this is probably really dumb. But those grenades weren't cheap and didn't last long. I'm wondering if something could be rigged to capture that smoke, and release it with more control. It looked like you were palming that smoke grenade, so I'm assuming it didn't get very hot to touch. Do you think you could capture that smoke in a plastic bag, and release the smoke in a more controlled way? You'd need a large plastic bag, a trash bag maybe or something mylar. Pop a large diameter flexible plastic hose (like the hose off your vacuum) through one end and seal with duct tape. You'll need some type of a ball valve on the end of your hose, to open and close the flow of smoke. Pop the grenade, shove your hand in the bag, let the grenade run out, seal the bag. Call out action, open and close the ball valve to release controlled puffs of smoke by squeezing the bag as is you were playing the bagpipes. I don't know if this will work, but you've already spent the money on the grenades. Maybe you'll get minutes of smoke rather than seconds. And hopefully you can lay it more precisely than what we just experienced. Feel free to laugh at me now. I can take it. Also, my mother (her name's Kathy), recommends you try dry ice in a bucket of water. Good luck!

I purchased a smoke machine. Control and volume were issues. So I pumped the smoke into huge plastic garbage bags. Then let the smoke out as required. Cut a corner of the bag and played the bag like a bagpipe under my arm. Was noisy. Smoke was hot so I had to use a work glove. Sealed the bag. Gaffered on a paper cup to the bag so I could place it over the smoke machine output. Took a few goes but ended up working well.

Tried the dry ice. Here in Queensland it was too hot and humid and didn't work too well. So made the smoke machine purchase. Cheers.

Oh and as the smoke cools, it gets less smoke and more a wetness in the bag. I had two bags ready for my last shoot.

Oh interesting! I may look into the physics behind that (re another test lol)

I love the cohesion the whole group has. You are all working well together. That is what a team does. The planning and the walk through for everyone. The shots for the blood on the ground, weapon and armor reminded me of the video by John Fogerty "Old Man Down The Road. Keep going and best of luck.

In the first shot, you could have the view pointed down as if you were walking over the sword and gauntlet. This will help with depth of field and visual of blood as an option. Loving this series of the channel keep up the great work.

Thanks! Your suggestion is a good one, I just personally like the aesthetic of the 3/4 pov better, but it is a viable option for sure.

This is cool, keep showing the behind the scenes stuff. The cheapo home smoke machines gum up from the smoke liquid. I think there is a way to clean them . However, it needs to be done right after use. You might be able to resurrect the one you have?
@tabletopalchemy5 ай бұрын
I might true, but I think I’m going to buy a bigger one for the outdoor shots anyway. But I’ll keep the cleaning in mind for that one lol. 🍻

Hey a question on smoke grenade. Do they work in water - say chucked in a pond. Or maybe for a test just in bucket of water. Anyway maybe a low priority… but could be cool. 🗡️💨

I don’t know, interesting. They do spit out sparks and get hot but that would be a trippy effect to research🤙🏴☠️🍻

Aiding and abetting... Nice. So I could have sworn that I left a comment to this video, but maybe YT decided that mentioning pomegranates that release smoke (wink, wink) is not allowed and removed it altogether 😁 Oh well, I hope this one stays, if no other reason that as a tribute to the almighty deity Algoritmus Teribilis. And huge props to Jared for being a true ranger and weathering the heat in all that armor!
