One more time: When you sleep on the sand, first carefully smooth out the area you will lie on so that you have a level spot, with no footprints, rocks or sticks. Scallop out custom divots in the sand where your hip and shoulder will be when you lie down, and lay whatever debris, boughs, sleeping pad/system on top of it. If you shape it right, it will keep you from lying on the hard points of your hip and shoulders. Your back will thank me.

You always have a positive outlook even when the odds and nature are against you. Truly an inspiration for so many including myself. Thanks for all you do and the awesome adventures. BTW you can use cotton balls and sand to also make a friction fire. Charcoal or ash works best but dry fine dirt or fine sand can work too. Good skills and knowledge to have if your out bush wacking

As a tip. Those thermal blankets make a better waterproof roof than anything. Theyll work better to radiate body heat back into your shelter if used as a roof. Also, amazing work on that fire method. But your tinder needs more surface area. You want fluffy, not spiny or prickly grass. Im sure a ton of fine shavings came off that log you split. That as tinder would have been ideal here. But i honestly was impressed by the ingenuity here with the bandage and charcoal doobie
