Fieldey TV: Art & Tutorials

Күн бұрын

The front view of a nose can be notoriously hard to paint! In this episode I'll show you how to paint a realistic 3D nose. Follow me on Insty: / fieldey and sign-up to my MadSkillz MasterClub newsletter: www.fieldey.com/madskillz-mast... and get ready to take your art to the next level!
This in-depth nose painting tutorial kicks off in episode 1 with a step-by-step breakdown on painting a front view of a caucasian male nose. I'll be covering topics such as using light and shadows to give the appearance of depth and 3D, how to blend acrylic paints and creating flesh tones.
In episode 2 we'll be working on a three quarter view of a darker-skinned woman's nose.
Other great tutorials on the subject are:
• How to Draw Noses

I do both and definitely hard to paint. Even when doing a small face, it’s hard to do a nose with less detail. That’s why I am here. Lol

Just found your videos. Thanks for this. It’s just what I needed. Now, I feel like I have a snowball’s chance in heck of painting a realistic nose (which is not at all how I felt before watching this video). Instead of ripping up the painting I was working on yesterday, I will keep trying. Again, thank you!!

This is incredibly helpful! I've got this nose idea in my mind for about a week now and I've never painted faces before or anything realisatic but this is a great way to start. I do have one question though, how would you go about freckles? I was thinking of splatters but I'm curious about your ways :)
@FieldeyTV
@FieldeyTV 7 жыл бұрын
I would try to paint the freckles that I can see in the painting and I'd mix the brown with either some water or even better, glazing medium and apply it with a brush.

I'm very confused here. Tutorial goes really well, up until the crucial moments where you take a nose and make it look real, and that's where you stop teaching and it goes from a mess to suddenly real looking.....I found this to be a extremely big waiste of time and I'm left here with an unfinished nose. Good joke

Now that I've vented, I actually do have some constructive advice for you - I think the hard thing is that point between the "ugly stage" and a finished artwork. Its really hard to teach you how to move between the 2 stages because it's really about learning how to use the paints and how to translate what you see into a finished artwork. It takes a lot of practice. If you want to see a bit more about how that is done, check out my "How to paint a portrait" video. I go into it in more depth in other vids ☺️
