So after a long 12 months getting a visa to India as British Pakistani's, we've made it to Delhi, India and here is what our first 24 hours looked like!
It's fair to say, with all the things we see on the news, we didn't know what to expect. Truth be told, we were very scared and on edge.
We did have an interesting first 24 hours, things continuously went wrong for us and we started to think if India was really a place for us!

@@amritabhinav5364 Pakistan is formed on the Basis of Religion not India. India is the present way before the partition. It's just that some part of India was separated. All the communities were living in india before partition. As far as civilization is concerned we are all Belongs to Indus valley civilization. And In Indus valley civilization there was no god , no religion nothing. There was zero archaeology evidence of any religion in Indus valley civilization.

interesting the guy mentioned you can see local Christians, Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims quite frequently. This is contrast when I went to Pakistan and it seemed everyone is Muslim (no diversity in terms of religion)

Pahadganj is just like old delhi , you have to book hotel in new delhi mostly foreigners came to paharganj because hotel's is cheap there 😊

Use Delhi metro , metro covers whole delhi and has 250 + metro station 🚉🚉🚉metro is far better than uk , compared to Japanese metro

Paharganj in Old Delhi is worst place in the country where most foreigners go when they land first in India. it is heaven for scammers and outrageously dirty, close to it there is huge red light area full of drug addicts. foreign people go there have bad experiences and then that's their impression of the country. it's a pattern that worst places in India are most visited by foreign tourists and best places are least visited by them. India's tourism ministry is not doing enough to make foreign tourists know about best places in India. by the time local Indians recommend good and beautiful places foreigners are already gone.

RIGHT NOW it's not the best time to visit metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai....there is insane amount of construction going on and hence the chaos is touching heights.... Also in last 5 yrs these cities has been overwhelmingly overcrowded.... With major projects and cities being built around metro , it will help in relieving the stress and burden...in coming years if you ever plan to come back try more natural scenery like you can visit Northeast India or hill stations in Himachal and Uttarakhand.... Even a kashmir trip will be worth it... more then traffic choked up cities

I like Delhi , but there was so much smog … coming from the UK it was a definite culture shock lol😊. WEnt to that big mosque also people kept asking me for photos lol
