I have been a firm believer in Justin Fields and I say the same thing with him as i do with Cousins. If you aren't winning with him as your QB it ain't his fault.

I love the pure progression point, and I feel like that’s gonna come with Artie and fields relationship getting better. You can obviously tell that Artie opened up the playbook this week and tested fields, but still had a leash, by week 6, we’ll see those deep shots and connections to gp much more often…but that’s j my opinion

Once Justin settles in and becomes more confident than conservative, he will start to hit those big throws you see him hesitate on . When I’m watching tape , so many receivers break open on deep routes but Justin won’t unleash it . But I’m sure he will very soon! It takes time 💯
@angelshadowofficial9218Ай бұрын
He hit big throws in this game broski and in most games he’s always had that one spectacular throw per game as I remember
@glennjones6004Ай бұрын
That is an excellent analysis of a young quarterback and offense. This would be much more difficult if the Steelers' defense were merely average. Justin mentioned this week the superior coaching he's receiving in Pittsburgh compared to Chicago. Win or lose, I expect another very entertaining season from the Steelers.
@galewickell6061Ай бұрын
I'm seeing young QBs fail in one place and be successful elsewhere. Fields, Mayfield, Geno, Darnold... I'm wondering if they went to situations with better QB coaching/help. Meanwhile the teams they left often continue to struggle with the next young QB. So Fields looks to be the man in Pittsburgh, Jayden Daniels in Washington. Mahomes and Stroud successful very quickly...did they just end up in places where they got good help?
@zeeksquad2424Ай бұрын
I mean when they go to one team and fail, a different team knows exactly what not to do with them, I feel like that’s the biggest thing
@REAL0223Ай бұрын
Andy Reid was already one of the best offensive minds in NFL history before he got mahomes. He got his perfect piece of clay and molded Mahomes into what he is. Pat was a talented but flawed prospect. His coach took him time and properly nurtured him. Now he’s on pace to be the goat.

I think the receivers could help Fields out with better run routes. Pickens on the slant that he drops doesn't get off the line quick and push it outside before putting his foot on the ground and breaking inside (he also should have caught the ball). Patterson should have done what Kirk said and gone harder and then come flatter to Fields on that deep in.
@VinegarAndSaltedFriesАй бұрын
Not that it matters because the QB play was good but 84 was Cordarrelle Patterson (33 years old and killing it haha) who was playing at WR because Van Jefferson got poked in the eye and didn’t have vision.
@jamesgoudreau1940Ай бұрын
You make it sound easy, but it is clearly not. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
@mykofreder1682Ай бұрын
On the 2nd play if he watched defenders and space rather than receiver, he would have seen enough space to complete a pass in the deep middle for 10 or more yards. When the receiver meets the corner 15 yards down field that space opens up momentarily and it is a completion if he unloads the ball just as the middle guy turns and looks. I see Purdy read those opening and trigger a completion down the field, you say to yourself if the safety does not move forward, I will throw it, obviously the corner has to follow the deep receiver, or it is a blown coverage for a TD.
@jefffowlerrАй бұрын
watching film from the last game the Steelers are playing it safe im not mad but when the wr is wide open for a deep threat and we don't see it nor throw it Calvin was open a few times and GP please bring back the pump fake and move their safety's . Fields is definitely not comfortable he seems to be just hitting his check downs the one thing that I am liking is he's not forcing the 🏈 and that's good but missing a wide open wr sucks to see 😞 but im loving the 3 and 0 start 😊😊😊 here we go Steelers here we go 👏👏 here we go Steelers here we go 👏👏

@DjO559Ай бұрын
So your saying that these qbs who are taught pure progression dont always know how to read the defense, or is it that the coach doesn't trust their ability to read defenses because they don't know how to attack coverages? Either the coach or the qb?

*Funny how all of Steeler Nation respects the heck out of Kurt Warner. Think it's the Superbowl victory over Warner's Cardinals yes, but also the way Kurt came into the league and played QB with the Rams. Blue collar underdog story and the QB worked like none other to turn into a Hall of Fame QB*

youre being way too long winded. Im not trying to learn how to play professional qb keep it simple and quicker. This is taking forever to cover every play. On the play with the 4 slant routes youre looking at it from a terrible angle. It was a perfect throw, the kind you yourself would have put on your highlight reel if the TE caught it and it would have led to a field goal there. It was right before half, youre seriously questioning why he threw it that time but there was no time left on the clock before half so what do you want here????? i thought you were supposed to be an analyst.
@VinegarAndSaltedFriesАй бұрын
This is perfect the way it is. Learning the details of QB lets you understand the position and if someone is playing well or not/making strides or not. If you don’t want to learn that’s okay but the point of this channel is teaching us the audience the nuisance (of which there is a ton) of the position.
