Lamar Jackson has become one of the best pocket passers in the NFL. Against Washington, he was 10 of 11 against the blitz. Against TB, he 11 of 15 against the blitz. There is nothing more to say.

Steve Young was right, and Lamar was right when they criticized the offense he ran for my ost of his career. The Ravens didn't believe in Lamar as QB that could throw from the pocket. They refused to even try to develop an offense designed to do so, and they refused to obtain personnel designed to run that offense around him. Lamar won the argument and they finally changed the offense to give him opportunities to win from there. This development is about opportunity, more so than anything else. Lamar threw on time from the pocket plenty in college running a legit pro style offense with actual weapons at WR. The Ravens refused to run an offense like that until last year, and here we are.
@croixla8833 минут бұрын
It's not about refusing to run that offense. They thought utilizing Lamar in a way a la Kapernick would make sense under Greg Roman. It's all about offense philosophy. Look what GregRo is doing with Justin Herbert (don't look actually. you may barf).

Steve Young's vision of Lamar has come to light. Ravens are still rushing at a high level, but they have invested in the passing game. Drafting Flowers, resigning Bateman and drafting Likely. Lamar is delivering.

Greg Roman’s offense was offensive and slowed his progress. Just imagine if he was in KCs system from day 1 with the right weapons
@edmundrussell60444 сағат бұрын
at 3:03 he was moving the defender to the rare of Likely so that likely can get YAC but likely settled down when Jackson thought he would continue. Not an errant throw but a lack of mental synergy between He and Likely. Mark Andrews would read the defender and continue up the field in that instance. Infact the very next play he does the same thing with Andrews for a TD. Jackson is playing chess and moving the pieces.

You're definitely a hater, but you had some good points. Give him Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt and Az Hakim, to go along with Marshall Faulk and then make an assessment. I like Kurt but he has selective memory.

We have close to that now, and this is the last,ar we are getting lmao now alll the haters trying to back track because they know la,sr has the pieces. It ain’t because he’s sitting in pocket and. Playing traditionally, it’s because he has pieces to where he can when he wants to, coach actually believes in him now

Much respect to you for this. You didn’t need to make this video but thought it was so important for people to understand you anyway, and I have a lot of respect and admiration for that. I definitely was somebody that thought you were a hater, but that’s because I didn’t fully understand your perspective and that’s on me. My apologies for that assumption.

Kurt is not wrong in his analysis of Lamar (after all he is a HOFer). It’s just that he sees the game totally DIFFERENT than a Lamar Jackson. Because of Lamar’s rate gifts, he does not play the position the way Kurt did because he doesn’t have to nor should he. On that one clip where he allowed the free runner to come at him and then rolled to his right and threw deep to Bateman instead of taking the one step hot to Hill, that is Lamar being the freak show 1 of 1 that he is. He can do things that others cannot dream of. And btw, he has consistently shown the ability to beat free runners (blitzers) in that type of situation where they are coming straight at him. What’s different about him now is the calm and confidence above the neck, as well as better coaching and players around him who are better (or in Stanley’s case playing much better).

People have the nasty habit of mistaking criticism for hate. There were plenty of things to be critical of Lamar for throughout his career and he's cleaned a lot of those things up. Acknowledging the strides someone has taken to separate themselves from where they were isn't back tracking. Kurt Warner knows how the NFL passing game works.

Kurt people did say you were a hater, but after watching for myself that was the furthest from the truth. I always said why does Lamar have to run around so much to complete a pass when others don’t

Because he had a horrible pass block and third string QB’s
@bankslaw89002 сағат бұрын
@@thebreakdownwithtomross pass pro has gotten a lot better but it was times when it seems it should have been a split field read and the ball should come out quicker. For example, on that Henry TD he should have been the first read like Kurt said if he doing a split field read and not a progression. It seems he was being held back by having to go through a progression instead of just reading the defense and that determine his progression. I remember Kapernick use to say you don’t know my reads when people criticized him.

For some reason ? Your disdain for Lamar is evident to us have a jealousy because Lamar can things that you cannot and makes the game look easier .. you give the benefit of the doubt to weaker QB’s because compared to them you look like a god .. Lamar makes you look normal and dependent on your weapons
