This is incredible. Why aren't THESE guys the top iconic goth band? I know they're up there, but Sisters and Bauhaus get so much more glory, and neither is even working anymore. Meanwhile, Fields is burning it up.
@btuard7 жыл бұрын
sisters and bauhaus are fit more of that 80s mainstream goth sound. but yeah fields is pretty amazing, I actually just started listening to them too.
@FrostedSeagull7 жыл бұрын
To Akicita ad Dio, the single Psychonaut by the Fields of the Nephilim was superb !!!!! I rate it above This Corrosion. Psychonaut is a complex rock song that tells the story of the Book of Enoch. This Corrosion great "pop drivel" that is best suited to a nightclub. As far as bands go .... the Fields of the Nephilim were a great band. Bauhaus and the Sisters of Mercy received more press coverage and had "the image." Unfortunately, the Nephilim rose to the top as goth was "dying" .... pun intended. The Sisters had completely sold out and had become Eldritch and Co, - let is NOT forget the Patricia Morrison debacle - AND most other goth bands were fading out e.g. The Mission. The musical landscape has dramatically changed through the likes of Nirvana and with MINISTRY, Nine Inch Nails and White/Rob Zombie.
@SuperChoronzon7 жыл бұрын
"Let us Witness the reincarnation of The Sun" I think that line says it all..... For those of us that have been on the Psychonaut journey that Carl opened up for us, WE don't need the Sisters, or Bauhaus..... WE are "THE Nephilim" !!!

Akicita A. Its a matter of personal preference. I began listening to both bands (brands) at the same time in 1991 and already then I had the feeling I had missed something cause thay were so influential to my existence after that, like opening up a secret cave. I still cant decid which band is the "best". They are so different. The Nephilim is much better live, thats my impression after seeing both. Im happy to have tickets to Sisters in August.

Sisters arent even an official goth band.

I've heard people asking "who's playing keyboards on that?" The answer is nobody. It's the second guitarist playing e-bow with a slow-wave reverb: Layering. Fucking mind-blowing stuff.

I am german, born '72. I've been listening to FOTN since '89. After all these years I can say no music I ever listened to has influenced me more than the Fields. Elizium is THE masterpiece of goth, timeless, hypnotic. And for Psychonaut - I'm also playing bass and have always been impressed by Tony Pettitt playing this bassline.

Pray now, for how long? We're falling from ecstasy Like changelings Freedom returned for new souls Hereafter, well, enrapture me And I'll change Stand alone, beside you I stand alone, in the sky's blues Let it spill from my mouth Sweet nectar - for a thousand young Get ready for this... here I come Pray now for hours A prayer for me - could you love? We're falling from ecstasy You deserve us, Leviathan You deserve us, Leviathan Our children now, their curses come And glory days - our kingdom come Young and old now turned to stones Your freedom sold us Pray now, for how long? A prayer for me - could you love? We're falling from ecstasy You deserve us, Leviathan You deserve us, Leviathan A prayer for me Let us gather hallucinations From our private minds Let us witness the reincarnation of the sun [Chanting] May the mountains shake you to the core Pray for Leviathan, Leviathan ... I hear them call Zi dingir anna kanpa Zi dingir kia kanpa Pray for Leviathan Leviathan Pray for Leviathan Leviathan I hear them come I pray now, I pray now Yes I do Pray for me, pray for me You deserve us...

I don`t understand, how come such EXCELLENT GOTH ICON BAND FOR AGES NEVER GETS TO PLAY LIVE SHOW IN STATES??? TOP NOCH GOTH AS IT BEST! FOTN WAS , IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY "COMPADRE" FOREVER I`M ALIVE! I`M NOT JOKING! FOR HOW LONG??? THEY ARE SO SO, I HAVE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE. ALWAYS IN MY TOP TWO GOTH HEROES ALONG WITH SIS! LATER JOINED BY THE LAST RITES, WRIGHT BROTHER`S PROJECT, AFTER THEY LEFT FOTN). NO ANSWER ON THAT ONE STILL! WELL IT LOOKS LIKE I WILL NEVER REALIZE MY DREAMS TO SEE THEM ON STAGE LIVE! F**K! SO SAD! I KIND OF FEEL LIKE I`M ONE OF THEM, THE WHOLE CRUE`S MEMBER! ALL THESE YEARS ENJOYING THEIR MUSIC!!! STILL BETTER THAN NOTHING, SINCE "LAURA" ALBUM! HOW MANY YEARS AGO IT WAS? I LIST MY COUNTING. I`M NOT GONNA WRITE HOW WELL THEY ARE PLAYING, WE ALL KNOW THAT. STILL NOBODY "CAN TOUCH THIS ....!" LET`S NOT FORGET FROM 1993 CAR`L PROJECT "THE NEFILIM" AND "ZOON" SUPERB ALBUM, DIFFERENT MAYBE, BUT EXCELLENT AS IT MEANT TO BE. MENTIONED EARLIER "THE LAST RITES", (THE WRIGHT BROS.PROJECT? 2 FULL ALBUMS AND EP)! ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE, I HAVE HEARD! A"MASTERPIECE OF MASTERPIECE)! NOT UNDERSTOOD (THEIR MUSIC CONCEPT) BY MANY. I GOT IT! IT`S LIKE "KING CRIMSON OF GOTH ROCK! GIGANTIC ,POWERFULLY GOTH STYLE ALBUMS! SOME OTHER TIME LAST RITES, OK!. I GOT A LOT TO TALK ABOUT! ANYWAY, IT ALL CAME FROM THE SAME" STABLE". WORK FOR ME WELL! THANK YOU VERY, VERY, MUCH! I`M YOUR "TRUE" FAN, STILL COUNT ME IN! REGARDS, THOMAS(POLAND-CHICAGO)
