Fieldsports Britain - the great British pheasant

We're celebrating British Game Week with a pheasant shoot and a spot of pheasant cookery. Paul Childerley runs his shoot in Bedfordshire with the consumer in mind, so who along to see hw he does it. That's on the positive side. On the negative, we tell the story of a how antis in the North-West of England are threatening individuals, including women and children. A member of the Cheshire Hunt, which trail-hunts in the county, has been collecting footage of anti attacks - and she tells her story. It's admirable that this show is shedding light on the hunting sabs. I am from the U.S. and have no frame of reference for this type of behavior; if something like that happened on private or public land there would be zero tolerance and likely legal defense of using self defense.

I love a bit of Bailey's at Christmas As I have said before, this intimidation and should be classed as a hate crime. A hate crime (also known as a bias-motivated crime or bias crime) is a prejudice -motivated crime which occurs when a perpetrator targets a victim because of their membership (or perceived membership) in a certain social group or race . I will me pushing a meeting with my local MPs for both major party's and will be asking what is your stance on the future of my sport and what will you do to protect it. This is wildly used today and we need to get on the back of this.

On our beaters day I brought slabs of quality shells as did other senior guns. We put on a 300 bird day for our guys. Legally allowed some of my shotguns to be used. These are very expensive guns. We served our team lunch and I brought a case of wine. Our beaters had a ball. Some of the really younger guys got to use my 410 under Dads supervision. On formal shoot days our beaters and our incredible pickers up shared our huge lodge eating pheasant pie etc,. We ate what we shot. Unique in UK. Many now life long friends. We had a special syndicate for 20 years. Things change.

Thank God I live in a place where if people swung a nun chuck at a child they could get shot and nothing would be said by the police except "good job". Trespassers can also be removed with force by a property owner and the police will respond to remove them for you if necessary.
