Loved the fallow stalking film with Roy and David. I confess, I am one of the punters that goes out of an evening, after dark, with the thermal to watch the fallow rutting on their ancient stand. One area is immediately outside a well known deer park and the numbers ramp up considerably. I was watching over 100 deer on the stand the other evening. Marvellous. As for Packham... I rest by my comments last week. The man is a money grubbing chump that is, sadly. more about himself and his bank account than the animals he proclaims to be devoted to.

Well done Roy!Its a depressing thing finding animals in that predicament as usual from fences!I had a Fallowbuck with a complete Rotary washing line on its antlers one day in Hereford !I only had a shotgun loaded with sixes ,so was unable to despatch it as I would have liked at 60yds away! As usual fieldsportsman are the unsung heroes of wildlife management!P.S I have long thought how fencing could be modified to negate this common tragedy for animals?!PPS How about metal spacers between the top strands of barbed wire to stop them twisting into a snare?🧐🤔

A great show again.Unfortunately I came across a similar situation with a young fallow buck but he had suffered and died still hung up in the fence.

Enjoyed that a lot thanks very much . I think even Pete will appreciate how long that deer could of suffer in that fence if a hunter hadn’t of dispatched it .

Absolutely loved Roy's Rut shoot ....You could seriously drop the News of non UK and give Roy more airtime.... really not interested in a Squirrel hoarding nuts in a truck in the USA ...Give Roy a whole episode 👍👍 And I will definitely up my subscription guys ..😀

I like the rifle setup. There is loads of info on shotgun setup but not much on rifle fit and setup. Be interested to see how it pans out.

I must say that i am both surprised and disappointed, to learn of that stag taking six shots . Before it was put out of its misery. Up here a local gamekeeper is usually called to the scene. They will do the required job with one accurately placed shot. That was not good at all. It also would have added to the animals suffering sadly.

Well done Roy you did the kindest thing sad but that's nature 👍. Why police shoot it a hunter would have done it in 1 shot we know where to hit. As for packham is this where are TV licence cash goes. The BBC should have a chat with him.

I would have failed my DSC1 if it took me more than 1 attempt at a dispatch shot; and these folks are firearms specialists? 😳😳😬

Issue is they are using calibres designed to drop humans without causing too much damage.
@daveedwards35313 жыл бұрын
But you can legally dispatch a deer with a .22 rimfire, I don’t think the calibre had much to do with it. I’m sure the police use 9mm, that’s plenty to dispatch a red sat on a road going nowhere 😂
@vaughanhobden78283 жыл бұрын
Hunters being regarded as cold blooded killers and you can clearly hear the despair in his voice having to dispatch the deer. Where are the vegans and anti's helping stuck wildlife? Probably watching one sided documentaries on animal welfare while sitting inside their house.
