We emailed back and forth for a month or so. I forgot about it. I got an email on the 2nd of July stating “WHERE ARE YOU I WAITED FOR YOU” and then gOT THE FUCKING “wha if a bird strays from its flock. I waited for you. I replied to all your emails.” And it hit me like a train. I’m not ok. I’m assuming I was one of a very small amount of people who replied to this due to how god damn specific this is I just got off a 7 hour plane ride that started at 3 am I’m so tired I’m so confused and I’m genuinely unsure if I’m awake.

This reminds me of an infamous Terry Davis quote "What's reality? I don't know. When my bird was looking at my computer monitor I thought 'That bird has no idea what he's looking at.' And yet what does the bird do? Does he panic? No, he can't really panic, he just does the best he can. Is he able to live in a world where he's so ignorant? Well, he doesn't really have a choice. The bird is okay even though he doesn't understand the world. You're that bird looking at the monitor, and you're thinking to yourself, 'I can figure this out'. Maybe you have some bird ideas. Maybe that's the best you can do."

At first I was afraid of Erik. I was afraid of what this was leading up to. All that it lead to was a nice conversation in the woods. At first, I only watched. At some point I found myself answering his questions. Since the conversation in the woods, I did feel a warmth with Erik. I thought about his questions more instead of writing it off as random humor. This three minute video did help me understand the way I react to people. The odd thing is that I will likely forget I ever watched it. KZbin does sometimes forget that I watched something as well and fails to notify me with the red bar. I will likely rewatch this and go through it all over again, with the only indication that I have ever seen it is a like and a comment I don’t remember leaving. That is okay. It would be odd for a three minute KZbin video to be forever engrained into my memory. Still, it is a very good video, and I do hope when I rewatch it I will still have the same appreciation for it.
