Nice idea on the master. The best way I've found to bleed the slave is to gravity bleed. Put the LF wheel at the highest point and the RR wheel at the lowest. A driveway works well for that. Then just open the slave bleeder and remove and wait. Tap on the side of the slave a few times to break free any air bubbles. Then just tighten er up, Maybe takes 15 minutes. The problem with pushing the slave rod in or the clutch pedal is upon release there's a good chance of sucking in air from either the bleeder threads or the slave seals.

Just did this same repair... I used a vacuum bleeder, pumped it to put vacuum on the bleeder and then loosened the nut while using a broom handle to push on the clutch pedal... awkward, but it worked. Enjoyed the video. :)

Excellent video! I also purchased Rodney's clutch master & slave cylinders, but put it off cuz I haven't had the chance to review the service manual book yet. Your video made it look so easy, giving me a motivation to tackle this project sooner than later. It'd be nice to provide a list of items used in the video under the description. Sometime, KZbin's English subtitles didn't catch exactly what you were saying correctly. So, a list & links would come in handy. What was the name of that blue lube you used? Also, it'd be nice if you could produce more videos about common Fiero maintenance tasks, using Rodney's products. That'd be awesome for everyone in the Fiero community. Thank you, Jay! I really appreciate that.

Thank you! It isn't a hard job, just take your time. Use penetrating oil on the lines and nuts, and let them soak, if they look rusty.

A substitute to the "blue lube" that you can use is Silglide. You can purchase that stuff at NAPA auto-parts and it works great. It's resistant to heat, cold, doesn't react to anything, and helps reduce friction wear. Just did this clutch master and slave replacement and everything is working smoothly.

Dumb Q but what's the appx fluid capacity of the system? The slave quit (& master sucked in air) so I replaced with the RD master & slave. Bled almost 2 additional cups of fluid out since the bubbles stopped and the slave seems to fully travel when pedal pushed in with an 8-foot 1x2 but shifter won't go into ANY gear with engine running...usually goes into gear ok (but not very smoothly) with engine off...but not always... Manually operating the lever in engine bay makes shifter move around fine...WTF!?!

Always a tricky thing to bleed the clutch circuit on the Fiero 😉
