I watched this video about 6 months ago when I got my 1st fiero... I'm now in the process of re-dying the interior, and replacin the headliner, so I was like, wheres that video at... watching it again, I see alot of familiar faces from N.I.F.E. ! Thanks for the info! going to be doing my headliner next week....

You're welcome -- it's a labor of love. The Fiero has gotten a bad rap for a long time now -- as the only mass-produced American mid-engine car, people should be preserving them.

With overhead console, it's very easy to break those two plastic clips. They should take their time and show you how to remove it without breaking it. It's very common.

I was thinking of the Fiero Store's ABS headliner as well. Being ABS, it won't rot as easily and is stronger than fiberboard.

Is it the same thickness as the fiberboard. If it's thicker, there could be a problem with it fitting under the trim pieces all around.

The site says its a whole new headliner, with covering, not just a backing. They do have an uncovered one as well. I would think that would be the same thickness, but ask first before buying.

So is that just one piece of material being glued to the fiber board? Or is it fabric glued to foam backing?

It looks like foam, but it's solid. They had to scrape old adhesive off the board to get a smooth surface.

After seeing this demonstration, I think I'm going to try it myself. The most difficult part looks like laying the adhesive-sprayed fabric on the headliner panel and lining it up right.

I did it but made the mistake not to use spray glue. Now its not sagging but have stripes.

sometimes u need to do 3 coats of regular contact cement

That's good to know -- I'm going to try to do the job this summer on my headliner. (Fingers crossed) ;)
