In 1991, four events were designated as senior majors, although the US (Senior) Open was probably significantly more prestigious than the others. Jack Nicklaus won the 1st, 2nd and 4th, but failed to contend at the 3rd. Below are highlights in chronological order, but unfortunately there are some gaps, and the quality is poor.
st major (April), The Tradition: Nicklaus rallied from a 12-stroke deficit after 36 holes, defeating Jim Colbert, Jim Dent and Phil Rodgers. My only video from the event is the final-round broadcast opening.
nd major (April), PGA Seniors Championship [beginning at 2:30]: Nicklaus cruised to victory, but before he was done, NBC switched away to the NBA pregame show.
rd major (June), Senior Players Championship [beginning at 4:20]: Nicklaus failed to contend. The winners were Jim Albus and God. For Albus, it was his first Senior Tour win, and it would be his only major.
th major (July), US Senior Open [beginning at 6:50]: It was apparently a very competitive final-round finish, but my video only goes to about the 15th hole. The result was a tie between Nicklaus and Chi Chi Rodriguez. At the 18-hole Monday playoff, Jack dominated with a spectacular 65 to win easily.
