If you follow Bubba around a golf course, you can tell that he's the most loved--not the most hated. He is, by far, the most fun to watch. Bubba has given more to charity than any on tour have.

I knew him back in the days of high school. We competed against each other on an adult formal golf tour here in Pensacola. I was 45 years old and a real good player but Bubba was better. He never made me feel bad. He and his Dad were a class act. He personally gave a lot to a charity my wife was helping with and it included a pink driver!!. I have only good and very good things to say about the Watsons

Bubba is a whiner. He comes across as arrogant and entitled. His former caddie who now loops for Scottie Scheffler quit because Bubba was driving him crazy with his constant complaining and for blaming him for Bubba’s bad shots. That said, the fact that he shows up early at Augusta each year for the Drive Chip & Putt competition is admirable…

Koepka has been a top 5 golfer for quite some time. It's ridiculous to suggest that 4 time major champ lacks technique and finesse. You don't win a major without finesse on and around the green. And his "technique" is an objective opinion at best.

Patrick Reed is absolutely loved by many of the local pros and superintendents at many of the tour stops and more than a few will name him as their favorite tour player. The one guy whose name came up as the most hated regularly was Tom Lehman.

I remember playing at Keller GC in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area 30-odd years ago. I was playing along with an old gentleman who said he witnessed Terrible Tommy Bolt once throw his driver farther than he'd hit his drive on a hilly par 4. IIRC, it was the 1954 PGA but I could be wrong on the year.

This video forgot to mention that Phil Mickelson’s nickname among pro golfers is FIGJAM - F*ck I’m Good - Just Ask Me. It’s funny how so many average guy, golfers think highly of him simply because he usually goes for the hero shot, and sometimes/often has the skill to pull it off. He’s inspired millions of these golfers to lose tens of millions of balls, and he arrogantly thinks very little of them. I’m also not a fan of people that are famous for serial gambling, particularly those who boast about their prowess with betting, like Mickelson has.

All of these golfers support characteristics that scream "non-conventional" which is perfect for LIV. There are a few of them I do miss - and - would like to see back on the PGA Tour. However, just like any pioneer seeking to establish a new frontier, their legacies are now crystallized. I know that they were paid quite a price to join LIV - however - I don't think that it will compare to the price that they will all end up paying regarding their place in pro golf history.

Been watching golf since the Shell Wonderful World of Golf in the 50's. The tour had a bunch of personalities that were fun to watch. Not much now. Liv bought its way into the sport and ended the pga. Politics ruins everything.

The golf press is constantly trying to dramatize and exaggerate anything negative they can throw at a pro golfer and have at least a bit of the mud stick. They criticize players who listen to their management and PR team and as a consequence never say anything negative and just repeat the same old positive platitudes and clichés, calling them robots. But when someone does voice a genuine opinion, and there is any critical element to it, even if entirely constructive, they will mischaracterize that golfer as a whiner, a complainer, or someone who is “ripping the tour.” If there is any negative way a pro golfer’s statements or actions can be interpreted, the golf press will do that. They have criticized Bubba Watson for being humorless, but when he jokes around about another golfer, in this case, Patrick Reed as shown in the video, they label him a bully. No mention here of how the guy has some pretty serious mental health concerns he has struggled with for decades. At least they did mention that some of his peers think highly of him (although mostly the tour biblethumpers, since he is highly religious - there are innumerable examples of highly Christian individuals who are absolute garbage, so there is zero correlation between being a person of faith, and being a good person) and that he contributes significantly to charitable causes.
