What's the Collins Map like compared to the TRS & Revo ? I ask because l'm just down the road from Collins, cheers
@Steve-fn8hs3 жыл бұрын
Great video. I'm glad you've had a pop at the 'sensible' lot. I'm not sure why you'd watch a video about a remap only to moan about warranties etc😂. I'm running my MK8 ST on Revo Stage 1 and Milltek exhaust and it completely transforms the performance and sound. The fact that these remaps are effectively stage 2 on a MK7 through software only. I think Revo/TRS/Mountune/Dream Science are pretty much proven and little between any of them. I'm yet to here off a MK8 'blowing up' with a remap. I imagine at some point they will push 300 BHP with stage 3 maps (and hardware). You could comfortably get 330 BHP out of a MK7 with a Turbo / Intercooler etc. So god knows what the potential is for a MK8🤘

An incredible car, really. It's been a little over 2 weeks since mine arrived and I'm already in love with it. And that I am still filming and I do not exceed 4000 rpm! Are you still happy with the remap?
@solmackay3 жыл бұрын
Honestly I was in two minds as to get the remap or not as it is such a great package stock. However, after feeling the remap I'm not sure I could go back

Will you keep the stock torque mount for the wheel hop and fun that comes with that or will you upgrade? Love the videos

I've read multiple stories of multiple uprated mounts breaking... honestly don't know which to go for, if it's even worth doing given the fail rates

I had a PowerFlex purple torque mount I had no issues with it breaking but I did remove it after around 2000 miles just due to the extra noise and vibration in the cabin. This is the car I use every day and trust me when your sat in traffic that extra noise and vibration gets annoying. Doesn’t matter which torque mount you use you will still get wheel hop when it’s wet when it’s dry yeah the upgraded mount helps but not massively.

Unrelated to the ST, but in the Highlands do you all wave to random drivers? Wouldn't happen in South of Scotland! Nice video. Getting my ST soon

Nqh not usually, everyone was just getting their wave on when I filmed this

Hey mate, me again 😁. Still happy with it? Is power delivery smooth, progessive and linear? I"ve seen certain maps dump all the power down low and nothing up top, basically rendering it useless. Top video as always, keep it up.
@solmackay4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I am happy with it still, honestly there is a slight bump in power around 4k revs, but it does maintain this till the red line. This is more pronounced if you put different fuel in to what your map is set to so I'd recommend getting different ron maps from trs incase you get stuck and have to fill up with 95 or whatever
@juliuscesar98644 жыл бұрын
@@solmackay cheers for that, we have 95 and 98 to choose from here and the 1.5sec overrun sounds just right. You have scored a sub just for your previous TRS install vid "lets make it faster anyway" comment haha.

@solmackay4 жыл бұрын
@@juliuscesar9864 yeah, the 98 works really well, definitely a difference between the 95 and 98. Can't tell much between the 98 and 99 so I save a few pennies and fill with 98ron lol

Why did you prefer trs over revo please
@solmackay8 ай бұрын
I liked the customisation I could do to my maps, although I think you can do a similar thing with revo. I knew of some people who had trs maps on their BMW's and were very happy with them. If I were picking a map now I'd have a hard time choosing but you'll be happy with whatever you get

Did you opt for the higher idle rev to smooth cabin vibrations?

Yes I did, with the stock torque mount there is little difference, but with an updated one there is definitely a difference
