Fiesta ST (MK8) TRS Stage 1 Remap - TRS vs Stock Map And Installation!

Today I put my new favourite purchase, the TRS Stage 1 Remap against the Stock map in order to show you why you need to get the TRS map!

Bit late to the party (rip fiesta) but for what it's worth. I had a 13 plate fiesta 125bhp ecoboost. Changed to a 17 plate kia rio(I know living the dream😀) The rio has a simular 1.0 3 pot petrol turbo,but only 99bhp,and just felt slower than the fiesta, So 1 cheeky remap later and a dyno checked 140 bhp and 29lbs/ ft more torque up to 155 lbs/ It's never going to be a torque monster, but it now feels like the car kia should have released. Thank god for hot/ cold climates, high and low altitudes and crappie Ron fuel in places around the world, thanks to all that we can have our engines management turned up and enjoy cheap ,big performance gains.

Love your videos, I’ve not long had my Red mk8 ST and still have 2 years Ford warranty. I used to have a mk7 mp215. I’d love to tune this new one but I think it’s unwise until the warranty is up! Stock has plenty of power anyway 👍

Yeah I agree, I only ended up getting the trs map as the insurance was so cheap for it and I was declaring my other mods at the time

Good review mate, here in Australia we only got the ST 6 months ago. I have the five door in Peformance blue 😁. Apparently according to TRS this has to be installed at their HQ? Yet I see you doing it yourself. Can you shed some light on this. Cheers, Ryan.

Yes I can, in the UK at least, when you buy a trs map they send you the handset you see in the video. Then you use the handset to read your cars computer and acquire your stock map. Then you plug the handset into your computer, send trs your stock files and they will send you back personalised tuned files, things like fuel octane and overrun length. You can then use the handset to upload them to your car. I dont know if there is a no handset rule or something in Australia, but I'd email them and check with them

What's you option on the 5 door one? Also how is the blue colour? Is it to dull In gray conditions? And is it nice and bright in the sun? Sorry it's a random question 🤣... But I'm torn between red blue or white and I know red pops in the sun as well as a (clean) white one in any weather condition

I actually wanted a 5 door to begin with but there was a 6 month waiting list so I just went for the 3 door, I mainly went for the blue colour as that's the colour ford used in all the press material when the car came out lol. I've seen a couple white ones and they do look really nice, im just not a red car fan tbh.

Got mine in red a bit over a year ago, and don't regret it. It just makes the car pop more and gives it that old school "hot hatch" character. Although I found that it can be harder to match wheels with the red colour. Mind you I got that after I already saw the car in all colours. The blue just personally seemed too muted to me.

Colours will always be subjective, get what you like not others. I have heard The performance blue referred to many as ‘the right colour’, tells you all you need to know.

As far as I know I think its windows laptops only, and you only need the trs program. You get a link to it when you purchase the software

What made you choose the TRS remap rather than a Revo / Pumaspeed map? Curious to know if it's better!

I love that I can change between maps in a minute or two, also just the sheer fun im having with it! Customisation is also a bonus

How much poppier are the pops in percentage? 😆

My next vid will have a better representation of the pops in it, but I chose the 1.5 second overrun and when warm, it pops and cracks for all of it. Especially with my milltek gpf back

@@baldrick650 yeah honestly from what I hear you will be very happy with whatever map you go for. I originally wanted a revo map but because of where I live the nearest garage that could install it was around 80 miles away and I could install the trs one in my driveway.

Would this be ok to use on a puma st? I've just ordered one and I was thinking of giving it a little more power. I assume it's the same engine and box.

The puma st has a slightly different stock map (a little bit more torque) but I do believe everything else is the same. I'm sure TRS have the answer, drop them an email they're really responsive.

Hey mate cool content! I have the revo stage 1 on my st-2, a few pull vids on my channel. Not a pro tho haha Im going revo 2 soon, got my cooler and crossover sorted but i’m questioning the legitimacy of revo’s claim. They are leaving the gpf and stock cat in place but peter at TRS has always said he removes them for better flow to achieve the 260 mark. Lets see!

Is it a ‘must have’ or like a bonus? I’m guessing it would make the car feel a lot faster but in the real world would it make the car a LOT faster or just a very small amount? Just trying to get some opinions on people who have driven tuned ones 👍🏼

It feels like a must have, you can most definitely feel a big difference between the stock map and one of the re maps. You notice the corners coming at you way quicker with a map compared to stock. I've not done any proper timed accelerations or raced a stock one but the bum dyno is impressed 👌
